Because moving backwards is regression and is generally a horrible idea for video games? People don’t want to pay for less of the last thing you did.

The Draw system in FF8 is one of the worst balanced and thought-out mechanics in any JRPG. It’s absolutely broken.

Witcher 3 doesn’t happen without Witcher 2. The events of that game lead directly into Nilfgaard’s invasion. The whole game is about a guy going around killing kings so Nilfgaard can invade.
