Hmm, I’d say conflating policy and governance with a brand identity creates ungovernable narcissists.

Slightly more gay than jacking off, slightly less gay than watching home makeover shows with your wife.
I’ve said this before but I always think of The Strokes as the 00’s Cars who were mismarketed with a “saviors of rock” story and got stuck with an authenticity backlash. And like The Cars, their first album has all the cred but I find myself listening to their later albums more.
Finished Prey last weekend and enjoyed it (particularly the flexibility of gameplay) but it felt short or maybe truncated. Maybe that was a side effect of the open-world-Dishonored without as many Metroidvania elements. I kinda preferred Dishonored 2 but will definitely check out Mooncrash because I love the world…
I’m with you on Undertale. Although I was more annoyed by the gameplay mechanics on a no-kill run than the throwback humor (which improves as the game goes on). I think I’m on the final boss and I’ve just left it there because I’m going to have to scrounge to get enough food to make it through that battle with no HP.
I thought of him as a bro version of Ryan Seacrest. Never liked him, but was particularly put off when I was at a music festival and he was obnoxious to the crowd while introducing Weird Al.
I was just thinking I’d be more likely to get a taquito from Whataburger.
I’m pretty sure he’s that Batman/Olga/etc. bipolar guy who got kicked off repeatedly when he’d get manic and abusive. I think his new persona was supposed to be a piss take on SJWs but he got some traction since Kinja never deletes anyone so now he’s leaned into it (which is why it’s so often incoherent). He probably…
It’s just a jump to the left. And then a step to the right.
Hitting the grade after that first paragraph was oddly satisfying.
I’ve always liked Gaffigan (he’s so great in Flight of the Conchords), but his show was filled with paper thin characters and a weird, control freak vibe.
One of the greatest Cyndi Lauper songs.
I had that same experience watching Saturday Night Fever at Cinespia. Everyone’s sitting on their picnic blankets and then holy shit!
I have a soft spot for Somebody’s Miracle. It was too middle-aged for me when it came out but the title track and “Leap of Innocence” make me wistful now.
This was that period where Hollywood was chasing MTV (e.g. David Fincher).
