You know, politics being so boring that comedians just make boring jokes about it sounds nice.

Came to say the exact same thing! The overall slickness of Doctor Who from Eccelston-onward (I realize it’s gotten even slicker in recent years) has kept me at an arm’s length from it, even as I thought the actors portraying the Doctor have been uniformly excellent.

Quite enjoyed Afterlife, but yeah the fact that no one remembered the ghosts and proof of the afterlife was a bit annoying. Would have been so much more interesting to tackle a world in which ghosts were part of every day life. Have crazy cults, all religions claiming they were right, good and bad ghosts. Ghostbusters…

I think Ghostbusters *could* have become a real franchise if they’d cranked out more sequels in the late 80s and early 90s.
