Do you live in a city that has Lyft? Like Uber, except all the drivers are interviewed/vetted/checked and trained before they're allowed to drive folks around. Similar price point, and every driver I've had with them has been delightful.

AirBnB has had a fair amount of horrible things happen to people using their service too, actually. I think they've cleaned up their act since then (possibly), but they were having quite a lot of freaky troubles for a while.
