They also didn’t meet the red reflector requirements and never had DOT labeling. I agree they looked better than the Altezza style but the regulations made them pretty prohibitive for widespread use.

I remember this movie was low-key sponsored by Dodge/Chrysler (not like the recent movies, which look like FCA action commercials.)  Mitsubishi was owned?partnered? with Chrysler at that time, and only non-Chrysler vehicles were wrecked in the race scene (the yellow Viper lost the race but escaped damage.)

I had no real desire to see this movie but after reading your review it almost sounds as if this movie will be a modern retelling of Scorsese’s The King of Comedy, except this time Phoenix will essentially be playing the Rupert Pupkin role and in a twist DeNiro will be portraying Jerry Langford this time around.
