“...poor, sweet Paula”

The slide for Savant doesn’t mention it, but having the blood pouring out of his neck — thanks to his head not being there to act like a cork anymore — spell out the “Warner Bros. Presents” credit? I was watching it in my apartment by myself, but I had to pause it to give that moment the appropriate standing ovation.

This is my favorite sentence in the piece:

I worked with him on one of the superhero bits he did.  He was super positive and friendly to everyone.  He got the whole crew a little parting gift!  That’s a neat thing to do for a non-lead.  He was fun to work with.

Someone please define ‘schism’ for the writer.

There ought to be a term for when you revisit something you’ve seen before, and realize that an actor who you know very well now was in that thing but you didn’t know who they were at the time.”

This one started out a bit boiler plate, but visited some dark places and was a really interesting interview.

You are correct that “schism” implies conflict for which the article supplies evidence to the contrary. That said, this is the AV Club, copy editors don’t work here anymore.

Cool, a new feature? You could name it: Kinja Notifications Are Still Broken.

Cut off one head, two shall rise in it’s place.

And in 10 years, AV Club will be lauding her comeback release as the best pop music of the year.

Maybe less “tone-deaf” and more “hack site that pretends to care about morality but really just needs to churn fake moral outrage content while also churning any content

Counterpoint: being brave enough to expose yourself to criticism (and I agree, it takes bravery) doesn’t (and shouldn’t) make you ineligible for criticism?

That’s clearly a blue dress.

Where do you think the “native population” of Hawaii currently works?  Do you think the economy of the islands will magically transform into a tech hub if people stop going there for vacations?  Tourism and the service industry are pretty major parts of the economy all around the world, not just in tropical locations,
