I've seriously considered writing letters to Netflix suggesting that they incorporate half-stars, because I feel bad giving a movie three stars when I really think it should be three and a half.

Yeah, I hate to sound like a killjoy, but my enjoyment of the Max storyline is somewhat hampered by the fact that I don't have a problem with the decision to take away the vending machine. Blah blah nanny state blah blah, but if kids want to eat junk, they can bring it from home (basically, what Adam and Kristina…

It Happened One Night? Cinematic trash?

It's weird how many people didn't seem to get that whole scene. I really didn't think it was that challenging of a joke.

Yeah, what's with the total crash-and-burn for Hawaii Five-0? Did the guy from the vampire show issue a press release saying that he's not going to take his shirt off anymore or something?

I thought the pilot was more smile-worthy than actually funny, but that scene did get a chuckle out of me.

@avclub-adad33d3da210f8c6efe515ace3e7089:disqus I don't know what your cable/satellite situation is, but I called up DirecTV and asked them if they would give me free Showtime (specifically so I could watch Homeland), and happily gave me six months' worth. Yeah, I think they're filming, but I wouldn't be surprised if Jeremy Davies kept the hair just because he likes it. Dude marches to his own drummer.

My concern with Christopher's look was that the skyline aspect of it wouldn't read very well in the cheap seats. Sure, it looks great up-close, but I think it would look like a white blob from far away.

She's just been terrible in everything I've ever seen her in. Alias, Grey's Anatomy, and 30 Days of Night especially. But I admit to not having seen her entire body of work, so who knows. Maybe there's something good lurking in there somewhere.

I've often wondered how directors would react to hearing people say, "Your movie let me turn off my brain, and I didn't have to think about it at all!" 'Cause you hear people say that (usually in a highly defensive manner) as a way to praise a movie, but it's never sounded exactly complimentary to me.
