Ars Technica all the way.

Just moved my ThinkUp app off of DreamHost Shared hosting and over to a Linode 512. All I can say is holy crap the speed difference is nothing short of amazing. DreamHost has treated me fairly well for the last few years, but for the extra $10/month (and sadly moving to metered bandwidth/storage), it's well worth it.

Take a look at "Koder Code Editor" in the App Store. I haven't actually used it yet, so I can't speak to how good it is, but I have it on my "to buy" list. The screen shots look nice, and it supports both FTP and SFTP, which is a plus for me (I prefer SFTP to the insecure FTP).

Personally, I would refuse, particularly upon the grounds you mentioned. You are not their employee. You are self-employed, and the only standards you need to meet (beyond quality of work) are your own. If you really need the client or money, it's a tough decision to make, but ultimately, it's how comfortable you are

Do you have a power cord plugged into the phone while it's being used in the car? I have the auto-lock enabled on my iPhone, and it doesn't lock when the car charger is plugged in. I have a Kensington charger/audio interface though, so it may be a function of that particular accessory, rather than just of having a

It solves a problem for me that I've had for ages. I like the quick access of menubar icons... i hate having 15 of them. Now I don't have to. I've been looking for something that does exactly this. I'd happily pay $15 for it, though I got it for $7.50.

Holy shit! This is EXACTLY what I've been looking for!

As a former classic car owner, let me just say that you should make sure you've got a few grand in the bank reserved for the car—and only the car. As with any older vehicle, things can and will go wrong. Having that few thousand in the bank saved my ass more times than I can count. But owning a classic car is a very

"OP asked you for an opinion."

Oh, hell yeah... crock pots are awesome. There's so much you can do with them!

Speaking of assumptions... "HE may have gotten"? You sure OP isn't a woman? ;)

For a blog, either Wordpress or Blogger is the way to go (I prefer Wordpress, but that's just me). Flickr is great for sharing, but it isn't much of a blogging platform.

Being a Windows desktop OS, network services generally won't keep the computer from sleeping, only actions at the console (or remote desktop) UI will.

You can't afford to buy Prompt? Seriously... you bought an iPhone and can't afford to pay for an app? Just spend the 8 bucks on Prompt. If you're going to use it with any kind of regularity, just spend the money. It's the best (and best looking)—in my opinion, of course—SSH app available.

I can only echo the last two comments: kitchen gadgets or gift cards to a local Walmart or Bed Bath & Beyond type place.

LOLOL, I love seeing "audiophile" used to describe a workstation with a pair of Beats on the desk.

I just thought the initial comment was funny...
