I've tried that, but I guess I didn't use the right homoglyph because it still looks wrong to me.

So…you and Dik are moderators, I take it?

Please explain how you did that. Is it just a perk that comes with having so many comments and upvotes?

I'd say it requires a certain mental emphasis. There are lots of terrible things in the world, and I personally believe that when you die that's it for you. Rather than being depressed about it, I try to be mindful of all of the things that are great about the world and life (while doing what I can to counteract the

It takes a lot of Kleenex for him to cover his tracks.

Well, probably not. If he worked at Disqus he (probably) wouldn't have had his comments deleted by troll-flagging a couple of weeks ago. It's just something I like to imagine.

Oh, it was just a (failed) joke comparing the Republican leader to Saruman. "A new power is rising", etc.

I like to imagine that Dikachu actually works for Disqus. If nothing else, it would explain how he can spell out "c*nt" without it going to moderation/deletion.

Have you tried switching to "newest first"? That sometimes works for me, though once there's over 1000 comments your comments can still be invisible, especially if you've been downvoted.

I just saw Mitch McConnell's victory speech. What was all that stuff about the horsemen driving people from their lands to scratch a living off of rocks?

It's interesting to read threads like these and try to guess people's ages. Heisenberg, I hereby guess that you are 32 years old.

Lord Palmersbrew!

So that's why Gladys was called "the groovy mule"!

In my Canadian grade 9 social studies class, 25 years ago or so, when learning about the republicans and democrats, we were taught that they were both right of center, though the republicans were obviously further to the right. So: in a sense I think locating the center is a function of what you're used to.

I liked John Oliver's point about how most laws that actually get passed are state laws, therefore the republican congress in D.C. isn't a big thing. It's sort of the same in Canada—we have a conservative federal government, but I live in a province that has province-run auto insurance (with no-fault benefits that

Huh. I always pictured you as looking more like Chewbacca.

Oh, well around where I live people tend to apologize a lot, e.g. if other people step on their feet. I guess the message being conveyed is something like "I am so sorry that my foot was in your way; I should have known that you would be walking there."

Part of me thinks it would be pleasant to have some intelligent, conservative commenters. Surely such an animal must exist. I lean pretty far to the left, myself: I have no tolerance for intolerance around things like gender, race, sexuality, etc.; I strongly believe that essential services like health care and

I can't decide if I should feel scornful bitterness or jaded loathing.
