Non Redundant Spare

Walked over to Culver’s for lunch today. Went early, a few minutes after 11:00 since we’re in a part of town that every lunch place is packed at noon. I must have been the first one of the day, or at least by that cashier, she didn’t know about it. Lady next to her, “Oh, you weren’t here yesterday...” for the briefing

I also like to add a nice drizzle of hot sauce, usually Sriracha since it’s in a squirt bottle.

That 70/30 sounds about right to me.

The exceptions to the norms are very frustrating when working on bikes. Can’t remember what vintage bike I was working on, but the front derailleur rested over the big chain ring, not the small from the spring with no cable tension.

Dealing with a fussy rear hub on a single speed with a similar issue. Frustrating. Cones seemed to have some imperfections, replaced, seems worse. Binds or is Sloppy. Need to pull it back apart and verify the axel isn’t bent . . .

Wow. That’s a hell of a failure. Especially for an Ultegra, 10K or 10 miles, probably shouldn’t happen. Could have been a disaster.

Yeah, didn’t see that coming.  I was just going to comment, “Just buy a sealed BB” and move on. But then I got to the end of the article . . .

Yeah, Dodge sticking on a “SPORT” badge on HD Dually trucks, mini vans . . .

Only driven one a couple times in a full size truck.  Reached for that column shifter almost every time.  Or over turned the knob.  But I can see getting used to it pretty quickly.

This will almost certainly be my next vehicle. If I wasn’t still in love my current car, a 2010 Honda Fit Sport, I’d have my order in already. I use my car like a mini-SUV, and have crammed more stuff in it than a lot of actual SUV and truck owners. It’s had a fair amount of dirt under its wheels as well.

It’s so aggravating.

I love Birria de Chivo. First time I had it was in San Luis Rio Colorado, Mex., didn’t really know what it was, but what was recommended by friends that brought me that restaurant. Actually, my profile photo are the birria tacos from that trip. It was so tender and flavorful. A couple recent articles locally on

Chicagoland was a blast. Had season tix up through the first year without IndyCar. Some of the most competitive IndyCar races on an oval. I think it was the very first race with the three wide finish a few 0.001s apart. Had the photo finish on my desk for years.

Or The Netherlands depending on the point of view.

I somewhat agree, to a point. I would not use the cheap, store brand enriched white bread buns on anything except maybe for a child.

I love Bit-O-Honey.  One hardware store I semi regular has them at the register.  Almost always pick up some.

I love those!

Worst I recall was loose candy corn. Literally had a tray of candy corn, and would slide a few into each of our bags.

I has a friend that I never could convince about octane. “Only the best for my car”. Even after I explained what octane means, “Well, she’s used to it now, so . . .”.

Some of my favorites as a teen just starting to drive in the mid 80's.
