I grew up just a little further south, 175th and Crawford (Pulaski) in Country Club Hills. I do not recall a single time we had anything but Chicago Thin Crust in our home.

When we could be a little spendy, it was always Aurelio’s Pizza. Budget a little tighter, there was always a local place that was quite good.

This is pretty cool. Going to have to dig a little deeper. One of the few things that disappointed my about my car, 2010 Honda Fit Sport, was the lack of gauges. I’d like to at least see engine temp, voltage, and oil pressure. Have thought about after market gauges, but don’t want to be that guy with an A-pillar

That was my first thought, an old cell phone. I use one to stream music to a blue tooth speaker, but don’t get interrupted my messages and calls.

Hasn’t hurt me yet... B-)

*THAT* is hilarious. 😂

I guess. Better to keep a bottle or two of your favorite at work. Might be tougher for school, but how many kids use hot sauce.

Sitting “...agape...” and you like a proper caramel macchiato. Now imagine my horror, I only drink my coffee black . . . <shudders>

I can’t imagine what ever is needed to make a liquid into a slice is going to do it any favors. Also, the cost per serving for a “slice” of hot sauce is going to be just stupid. I buy Frank’s by the quart for less than five bucks.

I came home one night and mine was just running on it’s own. Unplugged, plugged back in... and running again. But 20 years was a good run.

I remember our first microwave in the mid 80's. Similar as you were saying took up the whole counterspace next to the sink. The big 1.5 cubic foot model from Montgomery Ward that was very common in my neighborhood’s homes in suburban Chicago. We got the fancy one with a meat probe for cooking a roast.

I looked through all, almost 300 comments, can’t believe I didn’t see this one already.

Never heard that one.  Love it.  I’ve tried it, no idea if it worked, but the drive around the freeway loop a gear lower than I should have when I was in my early 20s.

Jalopy

I judge enough for us both.

With the exception of scratch made ketchup that doesn’t smell like feet, Ketchup belongs in the trash can.

Early 90s, went to a close relative’s house, as I recall they asked me to bring something to them. Anyway, know they should be home, but not answering the door. Finally, answered the door drunk as a skunk, “what took so long?”, “I thought you my might be the police.”, “...and why?”, “Open the garage.”

Car is T-boned,

Zayre.

Growing up in Chicago, been “gettin’ a beef” all my life. Younger, I didn’t like hot peppers, so always ordered “wet with mozz”. Now, I love peppers on my food, but part out of habit, part of out of nostalgia (living in AZ, beef isn’t on every corner), still almost always order the same way. But I’ll add jalapeños at

When I was a teen, and into early 20's, waxed my car at least once a year. My car is 11 years old, never have.  But, water beads and it shines like new, when I actually wash it.

Various a lot. When I was living in Chicago area, I’d get the free or $2-4 automatic gas station car wash with every fill up in the winter to keep the salt off. Usually did the self serve wand type a couple times a month in nice weather at the ole Spot-Not.
