State and local governments can’t make laws that are unconstitutional either. Cuomo just got slapped down hard by a federal judge for doing that.

I didn’t say it did, and name calling is the mark of having lost the argument. The freedom of assembly refers to other activities that were banned by government. I noticed I brought up the right to worship and the shutdown of churches, mosques, and synagogues multiple times and you failed to address that. The

I understand your reasoning and your frustration, and I apologize if you thought I was trying to bring whataboutism into this. I was not trying to equate the protests to the race, just point out that if we are going to tell people they need to stay home because if they don’t we will never survive this either from a

No, the protesters are not the bad guys.

Enforceable by whomever is issuing the lockdown, social distancing, mask wearing, etc. mandates. State and local governments mostly. People are being arrested for not social distancing or violating ordinances by opening their businesses. Either that needs to stop, or the same

Exactly. That’s what we’ve been told time and again. It just isn’t applied equally. Many of the protesters went home to families that didn’t get to make their own choices as to whether they wanted to live with the consequences of their loved ones’ choices either.

Freedom of assembly and the right to worship are also constitutionally protected, but those took a backseat to the lockdown rules. Again, it’s hypocritical.

I’m not making an equivalency. I’m saying you need a consistent set of enforceable rules that can’t be based on emotions. The goals of the protests, no matter how laudable, don’t matter. There are people who believe their immortal souls are at risk because they can’t attend church, and I’m sure they think that’s

This isn’t hard. We can’t have one set of rules for one group of people and another set of rules for another group. It’s one of the core ideas that the people protesting are trying to get across. No matter how important the protests are, there are people who think that going back to work, going to church, and saving

The snake pit is a very small part of the infield. The 400k number includes the entirety of the infield, which is some 250+ acres.

It is to you. That doesn’t matter. We can’t have rules that say stay home, social distance, wear masks, and don’t be in crowds unless you really believe what you are doing is important and then you can just ignore all that. You don’t make rules and laws for easy situations. No matter how important you think something

You may have done that. Many others didn’t. You simply had to turn on a television to see that.

Tell me why that won’t or can’t happen at the Speedway. You said yourself you’ve never been. I’ve been many times. It’s 560 acres. 117,000 fans is going to seem like the place is empty. There is plenty of space to social

No. You made your case in this thread that it’s perfectly acceptable for large groups of people to be in close proximity to others if they are protesting because the cause is “worth the risk.” That’s called rationalization. If you are telling people that they can get together and take the risk only for things that are

I’m in the midwest. I finally found a loaner that they look like they are going to offer a decent discount on and I can stack the national incentive and supplier pricing. It should land in the $320ish/month range for a 24/15k lease. If that falls through though, I’ll definitely reach out. Thank you.

The thing she hates the most (besides the failing technology) is the CVT. It makes driving it a completely joyless experience. Not that crossovers are exciting, but this takes to another level.

That’s what she wants. She currently drives a Nissan Murano which she hates. She needs something larger because she carries people and cargo for her profession. She had a Jeep Grand Cherokee before, which she loved, but leasing a 10 year old platform due for a complete redesign next year doesn’t make sense.

The Blazer

I’m trying to get my wife a quote on a Blazer RS lease. It’s a combination of torturous conversation where I have to drag out information, remind them of what we talked about a few hours ago, and getting ridiculous numbers where the dealer keeps manufacturer incentives and offers a 2% MSRP discount. It’s maddening l,

We get it. Since it’s black-owned, they are above criticism. If you don’t get your book on time or ever, too bad. You’ll just have to live with it or you’re racist.

Now explain the removal and/or defacement of the statues of a Grant, the memorial to the first freed-slave Northern regiment, and two prominent abolishionists. It’s almost like your mob doesn’t know or care if they are destroying everything.

We get it. If anyone has a different opinion than the mob, they can’t be black. Maybe you should break out “Uncle Tom” again. It’s worked well in the past.
