Was someone simultaneously breaking out your back windows at the time? If not, it’s a completely different situation.

I don’t care about the car. I care about the people in the car who, very rightly so, thought their lives might be in danger when someone blocked their progress and started breaking windows. Should they then rely on the good will of these people not to drag them out of the vehicle and start beating them to death?
