Didn’t Bungie split with Activision partly because Activision wanted them to create new Destiny titles instead of releasing new content as expansions
Sony is in need of a devloper that can do games as a live serivice and Bungie is king of that currently. On top of that they have a new IP that is coming that Sony must have really liked.
In theory they could act as a bargaining chip - You take the C0D, we take the Destiny - but given that these deals are in the work months in advance it’s not like you can just revenge buy something.
If you don’t want to play the games that are that difficult, then don’t. There’s not a paucity of media out there. Its not like Souls players are bombarding the makers of random other adventure games with demands to make it insanely hard so they can find it fulfilling.

It’s a 3D Metroidvania too, in the vein of Arkham Asylum. Think about all the backtracking as you unlock skills like wall running, double jumps, push, and pull.
I started playing it for the same reason. I enjoy it, but I had to set it on dumb dumb story mode to actually progress through it. Even the Jedi Knight (I think, the one above story mode) setting was too much for me. I might be getting old.

This is no different from what happens with health insurance companies, or telecom monopolies, etc. Maybe capitalism isn’t…
“While it’s true that we all live in a capitalist hellscape, labor-added value is usually supposed to add value for… you know, the consumer.”
You can rightly argue that less competition will result in a general negative impact on the market over time, but this will almost certainly result in a net positive for the industry at least in the short term, if only because Xbox under Phil Spencer has been one of the most consumer friendly game companies out there…
Bonus its by Totillo.
And then Disney buys Microsoft. And then Amazon buys Disney. And then the Vogons demolish the Earth to make way for a hyperspace bypass.

Bingo. You’re not going to beat a month with Elden Ring and Dying Light 2 and Horizon: Forbidden West just because of quantity.
There is only one game, Elden Ring, and Memezaki is it’s prophet.
