That is very inappropriate to make such a joke at such a time.

That said, are you supposed to always pass on the left...?
Dont want to deal with it, do something else. I dont need to spend $15 to go 5 miles with an established cab company OR with Uber. I’m tired of everyone feeling like every job ever is supposed to sustain a normal lifestyle and a family of 4. Some things are supposed to be part time, extra money. Not a career.
Dont…
On the same note, doesn’t Lyft have a similar model? So wouldn’t the same amount of hate have to be directed their way as well if that’s the case?
This. How many taxi drivers still only take cash (regardless of what the city has mandated), have no mobile app, and the second they realize you’re a tourist, will take you the absolute most expensive route?
And the increased cost to Uber will make them inline with the cost of a taxi, which will sort of eliminate the appeal of Uber.
Not to mention one of the defining characteristics of a subcontractor is that the company can’t dictate specific time and places you work.
I would like to interrupt the Uber hate a little to remind everyone that traditional taxi companies were no picnic either. I do appreciate the presence of Uber in pushing change in the industry, and pushing to change outdated local ordinances that were anti-competitive. In my local metro area, taxi ordinances that…
Uber - I understand the issues with the subcontractor thing, but I hope drivers realize the freedom they currently have will be curtailed. They will have to work minimum number of hours a week to qualify for benefits and Uber can limit the number of hours a week they allow them to work to 40 and under so they don’t…
Bzzt. It is illegal most places.
Not saying he’s right but... if you don’t want to be passed on the right, keep right so they can pass you on the left
Passing on the right is neither illegal or uncommon in my state.

Well, the confusion was understandable, seeing how the motorcycle was traveling at a very aggressive 17 MPH.
And why would this be different if it was a bicyclist? Still sounds like the car was at fault. What if it had happened with a cyclist legally driving where they are supposed to be?
Confirming the douchbaggery: he sues.
I’m sorry, where is the bicyclist here? Or are you just skimming headlines and venting?
And while there was a slight mis-spell by Arolpin, pretty sure he used at least part of the guy’s name (the rhythm in Arolpin’s comment doesn’t really work with the full name)...
...but the driver’s name is Mohamed Ahmed Abu-Shlieba. The only thing off was that Arolpin added an extra “m” to his name. And given that there are a dozen ways to spell Mohamed (as evinced by your spelling it Muhammed), I’m pretty sure that’s a non-issue.
If he didn’t at one point blow a tire in the desert, have the chase covered by a local radio DJ, or finish the chase by going head-first into a bulldozer, than this shit wasn’t ANYTHING like Vanishing Point.
