One of my favorite episodes ever is Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - “Trials and Tribbleations”.
Not only is it just a fun episode, the amount of work that went into matching period specific costumes, hair, fighting styles, cinematography, etc was fantastic.
The Doomsday Machine, Star Trek TOS 206. It’s pure space opera, more or less based on Fred Saberhagen’s great Berserker stories. As a bonus we also get to see Starfleet officers at their best and worst. Great stuff.
The LSH were (are) my favorite superheroes too, and the 5YL came out at just the right time—I was 19 and had tried moving to a big city to be a musician and it hadn’t panned out. I didn’t know what to do next. The 5YL issues hit me right square in that uncertainty, and I ate them up.
I’ll always miss this version of the LSH. They were my first and favorite.
