This is the most compelling new Nissan in years. That interior redesign in particular looks really good. I own a GX460 now and had looked at the new GX pretty seriously, but I would very possibly go this route instead depending how mpg/pricing works out.

Maybe they could, maybe not. The Supra (even in 2L form) is still a nice car inside and out and is too luxurious to really make sense for much cheaper than that. GM would have to make it a considerably less premium product, something more like a GR86 competitor, which may or may not have much of a market attached to

They could probably do this somewhat easily by scaling down the C8 platform a little and throwing in whatever 2.0L turbo 4 cylinder they have in other GM models. I suspect the only reason they haven’t is that the 2.0L Supra didn’t sell at all and they think this might not either, especially with used C8s starting to

I felt the same. This isn’t really “cheap recession-era trash”, this is more just how car interiors generally looked during that era. You could do the same slideshow with the goofy 80s boxy gauge clusters/dashes and how those looked strange out of context. I had an RSX-S for quite a while that I loved the interior on,

First gear: This is excellent news, as someone who currently owns a 3-row SUV with a V8 and wishes there was a plug-in hybrid variant of that car. Hopefully more automakers follow suit.

Cringe, but somehow not much more cringe than anything else the average Harley rider does. This is pretty par for the course for that crowd

That’s a really good question considering the kinds of incentives going on with EV sales now. Dealers are desperate to give away the more “normal” EV models in their lineups - does this one really have the desirability to singlehandedly buck that trend?

The market is also just not that interested in them. Look at the sale price and demand for hybrids vs EVs - the Prius Prime and RAV4 Prime are both still selling above sticker and have a significant wait list, whereas manufacturers are basically giving away their new EVs and leasing them for dramatically under cost.

The story behind these is also extremely cool and very Honda. Harley at the time was churning out garbage that was utterly uncompetitive compared to what Japan was shipping over, so they went crying to daddy Reagan for some kind of trade restrictions that would make them more competitive. After putting a law in place

“Relentlessly tweaking to customer demands”

Some other exotic cars do this too, most of the new cosworth V12s going into the crazy limited stuff like the T50 will rev well past 10k. Even the Honda S800 from the 60s could rev to 9500 or 10k or something like that.

India would have been a good market for Tesla to sell a massively de-contented model 3 for cheap, or introduce an even cheaper model altogether (which I am sure one of their competitors has done already). Despite how strong they started out, Tesla has repeatedly fumbled the bag and missed out on scooping up market

Bizarre take. Do you work at a dealer or something? Presumably slinging Altimas to single moms at a 29% APR with the intention to repossess them later.

IIRC these came with an M-family engine in the first place, so this is likely just a newer/more powerful variant of the engine the car came with originally.

Yup, my daily is a GX I bought specifically to tow my track car with. I work from home and have no commute otherwise and drive minimally to run errands and visit friends. The ideal vehicle in my case would be a plug-in hybrid GX, which I would be tremendously interested in, though that doesn’t exist and may never

One or two people will vote against it. Lizardman’s constant.

This kind of thing is super popular in the middle east, where I assume a lot of these DBXs are sold. I don’t know that the US will ever take to it in the same way.

ND, none of the cars from this range are worth 30k. Even the newer generation of Ghibli can be had in the mid teens.

NP assuming you are a teenager who is looking for their first project car to try and get running after saving up some money mowing lawns over the summer. This has tremendous value in that sense and would be incredibly cool. If you are anyone else, it makes way more sense to just buy a driver-quality C4 that runs for

Interesting observation here too considering the ‘88 Fiero was already significantly revised in a number of ways and is generally regarded to be the best model year.
