Those old magnetic speedometers aren’t linear at all near 0. So the graduations are adjusted to make the readings more accurate.

I’m actually tired of companies assuming I have a hundred bricks around. I mean, after buying 10-12 things that didn’t include a power source, I’m out of extra ones that I’ve accumulated. So now I have to check and then order one if needed. I guess it’s okay and cuts down on waste (for those that still have extra

“i can’t believe this $9 smoke alarm doesn’t put out fires”

10000% this. Dangerous vehicle modifications need to stop. So do modifications that remove emissions control equipment. Coal rolling lifted pickups are so dangerous to other vehicles on the road, pedestrians, and even themselves. A lot of this stuff its already illegal on a state or federal level (safety inspections,

People may hate the way this looks, but it’s clearly a safety issue. You are putting way less weight over the front tires than the vehicle was designed for. Handling could be dangerously bad depending on how much rake.

Look, I’m usually an all Miata, all the time kind of guy but $6500 is just too much for a nearly 30 year old car with 200k on the odometer, warning lights on the dash, and a frankly ugly color combo with the faded tan/black look.

Even if you go pick up a Corvette at Bowling Green they still charge you destination.

It is just a cost of doing business and I don’t understand why it is not integrated into price. Not like you can just go to factory and pick up the car.

Many industries do it, especially on cellphone bills and (till not so long ago) airline tickets). Fees, fees, taxes. Just give me a damn final price

It’s baffling that auto-brightness is no under Settings > Display & Brightness.

Still, it’s worth a shot. The auto-brightness setting is located in Settings > Accessibility > Display & Brightness.

Some money got laundered.

To add to the long list of reasons why I hate the orange turd who occupied the WH for 4 years, making wearing a mask a political thing is in the top 10.

I wish I could get excited about this, but how many times have we been down a road like this before? A big investigation, lots of anticipation that Someone Big was finally going to prison, and then... crickets. Or pardons. Or foot-dragging in the relevant chambers of law and justice. Or no charges. Or weak charges and

I’m very conflicted on Lucid. I love the idea of 400+mi of range in a high-performance non-tesla sedan, and the car is beautiful. However, they sold a majority share to the Saudi Government, and quite frankly I do not wish to give money to people who kill opposition journalists and oppress women, not to mention their

surgeries have been marketed on social media like cigarette companies used to market tobacco to children

I’m always blown away by the size of these ships anchored in the SF Bay. On the left side of this picture is an absolutely enormous ship, almost as big as Alcatraz island on the right side.

...what if trailers started coming with battery packs to offset the range hit? I know it would add weight but adding battery capacity in the thing that makes you need more capacity rather than just making the truck’s battery bigger seems like a reasonable solution.

They ARE the answer. I know it may be hard for you to understand but as product development improves and technology increases the battery weight will decrease.  Difficult concepts to grasp but give it a shot.

Hopefully soon people won’t feel inclined to roll around with gasoline stockpiles in their cars and get into fights in fuel lines.”
