I mean, that interior is quite nice for a 40 year old vehicle.

Precisely. Kinja is stupid, and I can’t see the greys except in my notifications, so I’ll piggy back to reply to the folks saying otherwise.

Agree to disagree. The GTR is absolutely long in the tooth, but I’m of the opinion this car can’t be “old school” until gas cars are dead and buried.

Let’s put it another way.

No, but I have slept in height limited situations. It just doesn’t bother me when the point of laying down is…laying down.

Why would you need to sit up? You hear a ruckus outside, you look around and see something you really don’t like, so you crawl into the front and drive off. A van could probably do that better, but its not like a full size van is going to be significantly different in anything except roof height, and is worse in a lot

I’d rather do that than the reverse. Keep all the gear/cooking stuff in the trailer means packing up takes less time. Slide it all back in the night before, go to sleep in the truck, and if something happens (ahh a bear!), I already have a panoramic view of the outside, and I don’t have to get out to get away, I just

Sounds like someone got bamboozled.

I don’t really think its that hard to comprehend. Never mind the fact that OP said nothing about needing XXX range.

Disagree. The bro-dozer/boomer/luddite crowd, maybe, but you aren’t selling to them right now anyway. Forget about that segment. They’ll be interested in 10-15 years when they have no alternatives. This is the EcoBoost problem all over again, and we can see how that transition went.

Nah, just send me a Lightning. lol

I still honestly believe whoever has the longer range will sell more trucks.

There’s still no comparison. The range with a trailer is going to be abysmal. A loaded F-150 is still going to go 200+ miles on a tank, and can refill in ~5 minutes.

Another idea. Have the Lightning doing truck stuff for 5 seconds, driving through mud, moving hay, etc then pull into the garage as the lights for the neighborhood cut.

19' is barely too small for a full size truck (generally 18-20 feet long). A midsize truck will fit easily.

Depends. Is your garage built to be a garage or a second living room?

What are the plans when you make it back home? Sell it and recoup the money? Stick it in the yard and let it...patina? Go through it with a fine toothed comb and fix everything?

Thanks for the response.

So, as someone with experience in this, when would you actually start looking to move to newer tech?

I disagree. The biggest problem with the Aztek wasn’t what it was, it was a crossover before its time. The problem really was the look and interior material quality. The ergonomics, the idea behind it (inexpensive vehicle that can overland), etc were all solid. The engine was fine. Nothing spectacular, but it didn’t
