Yeah, but especially in like The Ancient Forest it could be incredibly hard to keep track of all the paths and bullshit and the way to get from X number to Y number; no one in MP ever really used the numbers that I heard, like, ever.

There’s no reason to staff/server/etc. all the way up so that you can handle the big spike of people on the first day.

A lot of you fail - momentarily or entirely - in that ideal, but that’s the dream.

The funny thing here is that while this system is fine for keeping Pinnacle activities... different? it has the side-effect of also allowing, in non-ranked PvP modes (which is almost every newbie’s introduction to the Crucible, mind) the Luna’s Howl and Not Forgotten et al. to continue to be fucking blisteringly…

Seriously, that shit has been a more incredible conversion driver than any single invention in video-game history (with the exception of clans and social-media interaction which are obviously cheating), and it’s uncommon to see anyone discuss it who actually knows why and how it works.

It especially isn’t because Fortnite’s Battle Pass allows you to buy your way into future seasons with engagement, not with money.

I just need Destiny to stop feeling so much like I just log in to do chores and then leave.
