Here’s the thing though: when a nice guy repeatedly makes mistakes that endear him to white supremacists, Nazis, homophobes, et al., the only folks that stick around are the ones who are white, Nazis, homophobes, or some heady combination of the three.

It’s so weird how sometimes, when you appeal to white-supremacist shitbirds, they think you’re their ally and rally around you, and then a whole bunch of folks too milquetoast (or merely underserved by an education in history) to automatically reject incredibly harmful fascist bullshit will leap to your rescue when…

The point is that they either deal with unionization or every ounce of the value their employees provide to them - that is, approximately all of it - disappears overnight.

Here, I’d posit that Internet crusaders kicking up a fuss about folks being transphobic doesn’t actually do nothing, and that in itself it makes a difference.

‘Being white is okay’ is basically a dogwhistle; of course you’re not bad because of the way you were born. That’s not how this works. It’s a dogwhistle because it’s such a reasonable thing to say that it can’t possibly mean anything except ‘it’s okay to be white’.

It’s gotta be -super- bizarre to see the world this way.
