Quite a lot of people can tell the difference between the performance of a ‘decent’ point and shoot (Canon S120?) and a good interchangeable lens camera, even if (like me) they have more options on a point and shoot than they know how to use. There are simply physics-based differences between how a point and shoot

Damn Kinja

Is that a still image issue or a video issue?

Didn't read the article?

Ah, yes. In Georgia, you can wave a gun at someone without getting charged, but actually shooting them isn’t allowed. It’s a distinction not everyone understands.

One thing I think you’re having a hard time with using this set up is ‘mechanical sympathy’. This is an important concept when driving a real stickshift car, but unimportant in a digital setup. Definitely an added layer of difficulty! This is fascinating to read about, please keep it up :-)

Hmm. Maybe the better analogy is a tricked out Cadillac? Maybe one of the Germans.

Private school? 3rd grade. Overachieving little bastards.

Well, it would be more like ‘I bought the highest rated car I could find and it’s a piece of shit’. Buying an XBox One isn’t something that should need a whole lot of research. It’s a mainstream, well regarded, top of the line console by a major manufacturer. It’s car equivalent would be a fully loaded Lexus.

You know, it wouldn’t be free, but that shouldn’t be hard for a good cabinet maker to build. They already make spring loaded cabinetry, and you could add casters for strength. I mean, if you can get them on a pickup truck, it can’t be that hard to add to a kitchen.

And he conflates climate change with ozone layer depletion? He really is that uncle who makes everyone cringe before each sentence over thanksgiving.

What kind of range are you seeing with the recode? I love that BMW programmed in a ‘smaller’ gas tank :-)

They are meat in the same way ground beef is meat? It’s ground, cooked pork in a can.

That is a perfectly reasonable opinion. It can also seat 7 adults, has 280hp, and sells for like $23k brand new. It’s the ultimate utility passenger vehicle.

Wow, really? The pads or the rotors?

Hey now, correcting a MAP equipped turbocharged car for ambient pressure? The SAE frowns on your shenanigans.

Man, they are the best bargain in passenger vehicles. People absolutely pay for them-much, much less money that their friends paid for an Odyssey.

Oh god, the comments are going to be so good...I'm almost salivating for the hot takes that I know are coming.

Would this be related to how hilariously bad the mileage estimates from Euro cycle testing are? Because the EPA mileage testing is harshest in the world by a long shot.

My wife and I haven’t yet. She makes about 20% more than me, although she’s going on maternity leave for a year, so her income will be dropping by something like 50%, making our mortgage payment now 1/3 of our take-home pay, which is a big change! We’re keeping things separate so far; I probably have more retirement
