So, not a poutine fan, huh?
They've started rusting in Calgary, which is middle of the road when it comes to cars rusting early. The Protege5s all start rusting around the badge. It seems closely associated with use; I think most of the rusting ones have never seen a covered parking spot.
Speed, for one; this is way, way faster and more engaging; it's a sports/supercar, despite the weeny tires; 357 hp combined. It's also FWD, RWD and AWD depending on the mode, which will make winter driving interesting. Finally, it weighs 600 lbs less than an ELR with classic BMW 50:50 weight distribution.
It's not adolescents that bash other cars-it's 5 year olds. 5 year olds do have an easy time getting in or out of anything though; it's hoisting a 20 lbs 1 year old into a carseat that's tough. Have a mix of young kids? A minivan is gold. Once the kids can all do it themselves, you're laughing, but while you have to…
Now that they're finally getting reasonable mileage it's a lot more palatable too. The 3 L diesel with the 8 speed transmission seems like the kind of thing the half ton market should have been working on forever.
Except that...Minivans are way easier to enter and leave, especially when you're slinging kids into them, they have way, way more room for stuff inside them, like bags, toys, sports equipment, bicycles, etc, and little shithead kids cannot possibly bash a nieghbouring car-like that one you keep next to it in the…
And we'd all marvel at magical vehicles that don't violently lurch every time you shift gear!
There's a 1991 Eunos for sale in Toronto right now, at a Japanese import dealership:
Flying Spur Speed, I think. 200 mph-previous four door outright factory speed record holder.
Thanks!
My wife dry shaves! If conditioner works, wicked. But for reference, a bar of shaving soap lasts me way, way longer than a can of shaving foam or gel. And even if it's tied, it's way cheaper to buy; just a thought for those who want something specific for shaving.
For the record-dude here, big fan of Mug's Shaving Soap for my, er, mug. It's less than two bucks a bar, so cheap it can be a bit tough to find, but make some suds in your hands and you're good to go. One bar will last a long time, it packs well (not a liquid or gel!), and it works. If you don't like getting soapy…
In Austin? I'd believe it. They take that 'keep Austin weird' thing very seriously.
My wife is so conflicted with these. Her car has remote start with heated seat switches, so the seats will be warm when she gets in. But my car has a heated steering wheel. But it isn't on until you hit it. Furthermore, my car is RWD, hers is AWD; mine is automatic, hers is stick. She's torn :-)
But there wasn't a catch, unless you count the fact that this particular Jaguar was the XF 4-cylinder. For those of you unfamiliar with this vehicle, imagine, if you will, a Jaguar the size of that old 1990s 7-Series we all love, except it trades the big honkin' manly chest-bumpin' V8 for a dainty little 2.0-liter…
Haha, increasing motor efficiency isn't going to get us anywhere. The Tesla Roadster was apparently 88% powertrain efficient-that extra 12% is basically untouchable and isn't going to revolutionize electric car range regardless :-)
It's going to be hard to say no to a Chevy SS stickshift. Different level of trim, but if you pull up to one in your Jag or BMW, you'll sit there thinking "What exactly did I pay so much for?"
Only one used car, which I overpaid for and had issues. Still love it.
