Haha, that's why my father in law would put the bodies on frames from other manufacturers...whose bodies had rusted away.

Actually selling the first aluminum pickup?

What have Defender owners been doing for the last 50 years if aluminium bodies couldn't be fixed?

Ah, I've had that happen. Brake, the weight shifts forward, your back tires lose traction, and if you aren't in a perfectly straight line on perfectly smooth pavement the back tires will want come around. It requires very specific conditions. I think some of the newest cars have advanced braking systems yo avoid

Different snow and ice combinations can create different amounts of traction. Dry snow on ice vs slush on pavement vs black ice, etc, etc. It can be enlightening to stop and step out to see what the road is like in person sometimes...although that isn't possible on a busy road of course, and can lead to landing on

Own a automatic transmission RWD vehicle with an open diff. I can't get the XJR out of the garage right now; the alley is so slick that lifting off of the brake pedal will result in one (very expensive winter) tire spinning uselessly.

I use that exact mask for skiing, it's awesome.

I thought it was well selected myself :-)

The background music could not have been more German. Hope all involved were okay.

Sorry, this is a test post.

So my wife works at Westjet-let's just say 'the Kool-Aid is strong'. It's got a ridiculous positive work environment; a story she had recently:

Westjet is usually hiring! Pay is decent, working culture is excellent, flight benefits rock, not sure where they need folks though.

You know, I usually flinch whenever I see a GIF on a mainpage headline. Something about indicating that the author spent more time on the GIF than the writing and making the main page look like a Geocities page, literally painful to the eye and discouraging to browse.

Now playing

Any V8 Jag XF, F Type or XK. I'm a sucker for a beautiful voice.

I think this could also be a call for people to help their fellow man out by flagging off known unsafe roads. Don't sit there and film for an hour to get the carnage-wave people away.

I actually have egg damage on my car. Someone hit it with a couple of eggs and they scratched the paint; there is still an egg-shaped scratch on one door.

Yeah, we never find it fascinating to drive military vehicles on the road here at Jalopnik.
Hey guys, how cool is this portal-axle Volvo?
Did you see that Unimog?
Man, check out this Defender!

What the? The H1?! It was amazing. It was a military vehicle sold to the masses, which is ridiculous and insane and wonderful. What the hell, meccapanzer?
