I would Lemon the hell out of it. Sell any usable stock part (seats, steering wheel, trim, exhaust, anything not vital or replaceable). Safety $ is kosher, so you can deal with the roll cage, seats, fuel tank.

Suspension seems a little harsh, as it sounds like it probably wasn't that awful and he definitely seems apologetic, but there's probably some 'zero tolerance' rule. Hopefully it doesn't screw up his season too much and he proves it was just a brain fart.
