@Architectin: I heard that he jailbroke his iTouch and then removed the volume limits.

@Ham_Sandwich: Who'd ever need more than a Terabyte? Pshaw.

@UltimateFlank: On a more limited scale we can manipulate light in the sense that we can make a bumpy surface appear flat. You hide things in the bumps.

It wouldn't help too much to make a plane like a tank anyways even if it could fly. Drop a tank from a mile up and the result is the same.

@KirkyX: The bag changes color based on chemistry. The "Use By" date is just an intentionally conservative guess by manufacturers.

@thedarkerside.to: I couldn't agree more on the luck part. You try to make your own luck and have faith that life is listening.

@thedarkerside.to: I completely agree that some people's darkness is bigger than their capacity to heal themselves. I don't blame Bill for what he did. I'm more empathetic towards him. I wish I could have helped him. So does everybody that was in his life.

I've been to a similar place as Bill Zeller. You can't even conceptualize it until you are there. Picture a mountain turning into a bottomless pit. That is how your mood and outlook on life changes. I had the balls to pull myself out through years of therapy and meds. It was more painful than just being

@jcrane2: You don't see Ferris Bueller. Ferris Bueller sees you. It's that good.

The hospitals have specialists to deal with things like this. Apparentely these specialists aren't so special. They probably get paid twice as much as my engineering salary, so I have no sympathy for the techs.

@rocketgeek: The FAA is being cautious. There are lives at stake, not to mention millions of dollars for a new airplane, investigations, and possible lawsuits if the FAA is found to be liable (getting easier every day in the USA). The simple solution is to use catchall policies. The not so simple solution is to

@the_other_stevejobs: So you're a 40 year old asshole then? Turn off your headphones for 20 minutes because the private company that is flying your plane tells you to. I don't think it will do any harm to you or the plane.

Lime green? Yeeechhh.

@dfn_doe: Good points. People have to remember that skiing is far from safe though. This would be a lot safer if there was an option for the two long skis to detach through some sort of bailout button when you know you are going to bite it.

@Dancing Milkcarton: I bought some LED lights that were about %40 more expensive than traditional. They work great and are even a little brighter than the old ones. However, they come with a fuse in each string and the fuse on one blew out right away. My guess is that LED lights are much more sensitive to power

@Rainner: Gasoline is pretty barbaric too. We'll get to less barbaric fuels once we run out of money or oil, whichever comes first.

@Pripyat: Or switch to a new fuel that is reactive with oxygen once scramjet technology matures.

@Kiwishamoo: Considering that the space shuttle is the most complicated device ever built I have to imagine this is comparable, or even safer.

@Gemini-Phoenix: Speed parallel to the earth's surface is the issue with orbital flight, not height. Even if you could float an object into space and let go it would still need to accelerate to the same ridiculous speeds to make orbit.
