following the book (as only the first season seemed to be doing anyway), Sweeney was supposed to die in the 1st season B U T how they killed him still pissed me the fuck offff and that’s also when I stopped.

He looks like a youth pastor doing a rap skit in the second picture.

Aside from all the fucked up appropriation and opportunism of the show-runners, I was already done with this show when they killed off Mad Sweeney last season; but getting rid of Mr. Nancy and the Ifrit is just some extra-shitty decision making - they’re the most interesting characters that were left.

I don’t give offense, you take offense. That’s how this works.”

Michael Scott.  This is Michael Scott’s impression of blackness.

Whaaaat? I was thinking a “Black Panther, The Movie” shirt, and yeah, that would be worthy of comment in this context. But a “Black Panther Party for Self Defense” shirt? Yeah, that guy needs schooling. Criticism/self-criticism, and all that. Let him serve the revolution by picking up litter for month or two, and then

Oh....whoa....this fool isn’t wearing a Wakanda Black Panther shirt. He’s wearing a fuckin’ Huey Newton Black Panther shirt. Nah. You can’t do that. You just....no.

Marvel Blank Panther: ok

In the infinite wisdom of Paul Mooney...

Angry gets shit done!

I hadn’t paid too much attention to Gabrielle Union’s firing, but this second one from the same parent company makes me want to do a little reading. I liked the way American Gods dealt with racism in the US. They didn’t shy away from showing the dark, ugly, realistic side of it. They didn’t sugar coat the narrative

I have never encountered a network so hell bent on destroying what was, once, an awesome adaptation.

I think the thing is that nobody should be calm about slavery and racism, if the people who look like them are the ones being enslaved and against whom an entire country is practicing racist discrimination ... which is the part of this they really don’t want to deal with.

Anansi was one of the best parts of the show, if not the best. Was he angry? Fuck yeah. It wouldn’t make sense for this character, the way they portrayed him on the show, to be calm about slavery and racism. This was a stupid move.

For me, Jones (Mr.Nancy), McShane (Odin), and Schreiber (Mad Sweeney) made that show worth watching. Their performances gave real weight to Gaiman’s world.

If this most trifling of details is what they want to hang their argument on then they have no argument.

MOST of the story is “Not in ANY part on the book”. TF he even read what was written, then compare it to the scripts ? No.....Had he, the idiot would have known that excuse was vapid. NO..it is NOT JUST character growth and embellishment, it’s far more than that...There are characters in the show that didn’t exist in

“A rep for the Emmy Award winning writer and producer of NYPD Blue, The Shield and Dexter also released a statement claiming, ‘Mr. Jones is wrong on multiple counts, the least of which is Mr. Eglee was not born in Connecticut.’ “
