You have too much faith in politicians.

If the U.S. went entirely carbon-neutral today it would barely make a tiny dent in the issue of climate change. Most pollution comes from developing nations, not the U.S. This will harm Americans without actually changing anything.

Yup, goose, gander, y’all know the rest.

“Rand Paul and his father have spent decades collecting government paychecks. If they were truly anti-government, that wouldn’t be a true statement.”

Bunker oil is nasty stuff, but as of last year IMO rules say container ships and cruise ships have to run low sulphur diesel or install exhaust scrubbers. This reg lowers the fuel’s sulphur content from 3.5% to .5% Still a dirty fuel but it’s a step in the right direction.

Container ships produce a ton of CO2 (and other pollutants, mostly from the low-grade bunker fuel they burn), but on a per-ton-moved-per-mile basis, shipping is EXTREMELY efficient. Moving the same amount of goods by truck and rail would result in WAY higher emissions.

+1 for Spinal Tap

All 9 Star Wars movies are essentially the equivalency of a couple episodes of “Keeping up with the Kardashians” when compared to Dune.

find u someone who looks at you like ryan reynolds looks at rick moranis

I’m just going to call bullshit on that.

Soooo.....let’s talk some statistics, since we are tossing them around here:

I’ll call BS on their model. On August 2 there were 6,004,196 positive cases in the US. On September 2, there were 4,597,990 cumulative positive cases in the US which was a one month total of 1,406,206 cases. this model claims 17.7% of all US cases in that one month were related to Sturgis. Most math models with wild

“Now we have a scientific study to affirm this was a worst-case scenario, an event that appears to be accountable for 250,000 cases of COVID-19 at a public cost of $12 billion.”

It really do be like that, sometimes.

Trailer hitch? Here we go. Seen in and outside the museum in Zwickau in 2018.

For off roading, he should get a Lada Niva. Nivas are awesome and because they’re still in production, the parts supply is a bit less shit. They’re also marignally more suited to highway speeds.
There was even a small-ish run of Nivas with Peugeot-sourced diesel engine!

Now playing

Space X also made a grain silo fly today so huzzahs all around!

Erin: Could a dysfunctional country test large space rockets?

Dang, I never know about these tests in time to go and see them. I used to have friends on this project (my dad actually worked on the original SLS booster back when it was hercules) but despite this I’ve never seen a live fire.
