I laughed very hard at the bare rooms and “She didn’t even leave an autograph up in this bitch”. I’d be friends with Gilbert Arenas.

I found myself of age to get a credit card just around the time credit card companies started to be bound by regulations that curtailed their aggressive pursuit of stupid young adults. A few years earlier, there were credit card companies tabling on college campuses and the credit card applications came in the mail by

I’m not sure Simmons plays well as the host of a show like this. He might have a good concept of it, might put a great team together, might be a good writer like he was for Kimmel back in the day, and he might even have a prominent on air role, but I don’t know that he’s good as the moderator/host.

Of all the reviews of this show, this is the best and it’s not even intended as a review, really.

I don’t really disagree with you but for the sake of the argument, I’ll say this:

You and I are on the same page here and you probably put it into words better than I did. If I were a Mets fan, I would not be making a sign or standing up to gleefully cheer Reyes’s NY return. I wouldn’t be against his signing or playing either, but the black cloud of his actions would be enough to dull my excitement

As I wrote to another commenter, I think the reception was because he was making his return to the Mets and unrelated to his domestic violence suspension. I think this is the “I get to dust off my Reyes shirsey and watch him steal bases again!” crowd. Maybe the fans are wrong for not balancing that out against his

I’d think the warm reception was less “Hooray, he’s back from his DV suspension!” and more because he ran the gamut from prospect to lovable superstar for the Mets from 2003-2011 and is returning after five years away.

So I’ve been caught up in all this Kevin Durant stuff and one of the more personally infuriating arguments I’ve seen is that his decision can’t be criticized because it’s just like you or me getting a more desirable job in a better city or something.

Yeah I don’t disagree with that either. Jose Reyes the person is a slimeball. He’s not a very good player at this point either. For me, the fact that he’s a slimeball subtracts from my perception of him as the happy-go-lucky, electric player he was a decade ago but I don’t think we have to blackball him for eternity

Kinda not sure but might think its ok to celebrate athletes for on-field accomplishments without it being an endorsement of who they are in their personal lives?

It wouldn’t be my first choice, but KD taking the torch from Tim Duncan, who took the torch from David Robinson, and keeping the Spurs dominant for another generation is a pretty cool, if flawed, narrative. Of course I’d prefer KD sticking it out in OKC or joining a team on the rise like Boston, but at least in San

That’s fair enough. I would argue that my rationale is shared by more NBA fans than not, but point taken.

“All you’re saying is that what KD did subverts your notion of what he should be or what he should want.”

Well, counterpoint, professional sports are designed and marketed to emphasize the performance of “largely fantasy, comic-book, superhero stuff that doesn’t exist.”

I don’t know what it is about this that brings out everyone’s inner labor activist. The two sides of the argument appear to be: KD is A Front-Running Pansy vs. We All Have A Right To Pick Our Jobs And Areas of Residence and that’s a straight up weird dichotomy.

Wow, I didn’t realize a worse decision than The Decision was possible. It’ll be fun to watch at least.

Yeah, you nailed it. I can see the fact that her dad was MLB’s first lobbyist playing right into that too. “We’ve known your family for years. We need your help here. You’ve always supported us. If this goes through, teams will be folding up and crushing small-town economies. You’ve gotta get this in there.”

It’s scary, and maybe generous, but probably accurate to think that Bustos proposed this bill without even a vague understanding of its very obvious purpose and consequences. MLB sent this thing in pre-written and gift-wrapped with a campaign contribution and she forwarded it along without a thought.

These articles are bad because I say they are bad!
