Hot Take: The NBA teambuilding process sucks. It’s due to some combination of the cap, max contracts, unpredictability of draft prospects and the concentration of elite talent on only a few teams.

Hard to complain about competent management doing all they can to rebuild. I’m also a Sox fan (sorry) so I’m used to quick rebuilding on the fly by stockpiling assets, a really fluid trade market and the ability to sign people for whatever the cost.

I agree with this assessment. I’m a fan and think Ainge has made really tremendous moves over the last decade — just a little bitter that the asset accumulation hasn’t produced dividends more quickly.
