Anyone else see Utz chips in the convenience store? As a native Marylander, I got REAL Comic Book Guy-esque. "No! Absolutely not! Utz are not available in Minnesota!"

So, I consider Crack the Skye the last old-sound Mastodon album, with the three subsequent albums embracing their new approach. I thought The Hunter was great, Once More… was a misstep, and this one is a step back in the right direction for what they're trying to do. But I wouldn't say comparisons to Leviathan or

I used the Edge of Duality in my first successful fight against a Lynel. It was brand new and lasted the whole fight until it shattered on my deathblow against him. This was after trying several times to take him down. Seeing it shatter against him while he went into his death throws was probably one of the most

X-Men 2: Clone Wars was the shit.

They could never do AOA on TV, but man, some sort of time warp and a glimpse of things that could have been would be the best sort of fan service. On a related note, being like 9 or 10 and seeing the shiny copy of X-Men Alpha in the comic rack… man, all sorts of nostalgia happening right now.

Would there have been a greater "take my money and possibly mortgage if need be" moment than if Reggie or someone said, "Oh yeah, one other thing," and the lights went down, and then the familiar "Metroid" opening theme sounded off, and a pixelated recreation of the opening screen appeared, with like, "5.19.17" in

So it's proactive?

On a purely pragmatic basis, I would hands-down, unquestionably welcome Mike Pence to the office of POTUS over Trump. That's not an endorsement of Pence; it's a denouncement of his boss.

I wish my dad would stop saying this… God, make it stop…

Eh, I don't think so. He's your run of the mill Christian conservative, but he's far less sensationalist in his rhetoric, is a realist about Russia, while being far more diplomatic and, dare I say, political. He's also off twitter. Everything else I needed to know about Pence I saw was on his face when the fat

I would argue that Preacher was 8 episodes that should have been 5 or 6. Really picked up toward the end, though.

Had to look it up - Acclaim! Everybody's favorite 90s dev. Marginally unrelated, but X-Men 2: Clone Wars was pretty boss, although I'm starting to think my memories of these games *might* be a bit rose-tinted.

Maximum Carnage was WAY good! They (Activision, maybe?) made another similar game about the Venom and offshoot Symbiotes that was also pretty rad.

I really enjoyed Bioshock: Infinite's ending. While it didn't tie EVERYTHING together, it did acknowledge the core characters I cared about. There was a bit of writing on the wall throughout the game, but putting everything together was still revelatory to me (and addressing "death/respawning" in a video game has

Did Ken Levine… touch you? Would you kindly show me on this doll where Mr. Levine touched you?

Yikes, I was a big fan of the 'Shocks and their musings. Not to mention the art and gameplay were fantastic, in my opinion. Out of curiosity, what recent game, AAA or otherwise, makes the grade for you in terms of inspiring thought and interpretation?

I mean, there's a lot to "read into" anything, but at what point is that just projecting? Mario could just be batshit because it's batshit. If you wanted to REALLY think critically about SMB, though, 3 implies each one in the series is just a stage show. This is supported by characters wearing masks, curtains, etc.

Newt: "Ripley, there may have been a… malfunction… in your cryo-chamber. Did you sleep well, at least?"

Eh, maybe not for Mario, but I'd direct you to Deus Ex or Bioshock.

I like the part where you fight robots at the end of each level.
