True, the only mod on mine when I bought was a redone exhaust, and even that while really nice, essentially made it so I can't do easy mods myself like tuning unless I can find a map for said exhaust.

My buddy tried to convert his WRX to RWD, he basically broke every possible part in his driveline, along with stronger upgrades, repeatedly, for a couple years until he gave up. While it can be done, it's not as easy/cheap/good of an idea as you're making it out to be.
