But that’s what I’m saying. The idea of “the devil” means different things to people. It’s just as much as a euphemism to explain one’s own lack of inhibition as anything else. There’s room for interpretation that it’s meant to separate a person from their actions, but it’s nebulous at best, and there’s just no serious

Why is everyone so literal about this devil business? Then again, when has the internet ever shied away from a little nuance?

Kevin Smith has nothing to apologize for. The extent to which Bruce Willis is a dick, particularly to crew, deserves no sympathy. His anti-union ass can suck a lemon.

Maybe it’s because I’ve been a Charli XCX fan for a decade at this point, but once we get into the top 25 or so and so many of the blurbs are “Good song, coulda been better,” I’m just losing it a little. I mean, yeah. Maybe songs could be developed one way or another, maybe they could be more substantive, but they’re

Yawn. Call me when they add back the sex scene that depicts full penetration.

Oh no. Are trying to say that... people and information change??? NO. I am mad at these celebrities for things they did DECADES AGO. Those corporate shills!!!

Basically my exact take right here.

He’s playing Batman as an emo teenager. And honestly, the film knows this and lends his character some much-needed levity.

I also won’t be involved with Game of Thrones spinoffs. There’s already so much I’d rather watch.

Man, wait until Sam Elliott finds out that Phil Burbank, at least has he appears in Thomas Savage’s novel, is based on a real person.

As someone who has used Bandcamp for over a decade and has dozens of projects uploaded, I am more perplexed than ever. If they’re using libraries for music without any intention of paying artists, that’s shitty. But if they retain exclusivity in any way, that might actually destroy the platform.

Especially Michael Caine for a bullshit win in The Cider House Rules, a film that has had no impact on culture and where no monologues are interrupted by shark snacking.

Actually pretty close! No, I give Best Supporting Actor to Bruce Willis, if only by a hair, over Jackson.

Okay, but Landau is unbelievable in Ed Wood. And honestly, Jackson isn’t even who I’d give that Oscar to from Pulp Fiction. That said, I would give him the Oscar for Jungle Fever. That’s a knockout performance.

Wow. They didn’t nominate anyone? Radical way to conduct an awards ceremony!

I rewatched Boyhood a couple weeks ago after some years. It’s a film I’ve weirdly seen almost a dozen times. But it’s like you or Mark Asch says: The magic of that movie is not about the story or the performances, but in the movement of time and the moments Linklater chooses to preserve or truncate. I find it

Yeah, but are we having fun yet? What’s the over/under on that?

Cool! Can’t wait to torrent it.

Doing a cursory search, it does not look like they’re related, but it would be chilling if they were.

I watched it with my family, and it was so cool that we all had different generational ins with different artists. Also, every performance ruled.
