So... Where did he get this underwear? And when he got it, how did he explain himself? Because, if he believes this stuff so fervently, why lie, right?

You know, I found it strangely comforting, in the way that all Christmas SNL has been comforting to me since I was a kid. Just some nice laughs while it’s snowy and cold outside. Not an ideal show, but not without some merit.

God, I love “Christmas in Harlem.” You could almost slate it into My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and amplify an already great set of songs.

I used to love Kick-Ass. Haven’t watched it since college, maybe?

Good god. And then they still saddled themselves with that ending.

They kinda shot themselves in the foot with having Victoria introduced so early, and then so unsuccessfully brought back later in the show. That said, Cristin Milioti is so winning in the final season that she at least works.

Because so many elements of How I Met Your Mother aged as poorly as they did—with Barney Stinson being far from the only major culprit—and with the finale as miscalculated as it was, I think it’s easy to forget how inventive and how funny and how affecting that show could be. Fine piece and all, but I’m pretty sure this has been public knowledge for many years at this point.

Come on. We gotta shout out Alan Ruck. He is constantly benched on the show, and he plays that need for recognition so beautifully. It feels like we all undervalue his work on the show, and this episode gives him a great ending to his season arc.

Yeah, I don’t get the hate for it, either. It’s totally fine.

I got a chuckle out of it. Would be funnier if it didn’t call out the reference.

The Big Short is pretty good, and at least tries to have fun while explaining complex concepts. But it is punishingly didactic, and sort of falls off once it gets really serious.

I don’t know. Probably because the only movies of McKay’s that are good and worth remembering are with Will Ferrell? Who wants another self-righteous polemic that spells out its message in the most literal terms possible?

You know who’s a great writer? Aaron Sorkin.

The Grammys have always been a conservative charade. Their inception was notoriously anti-rock from the start, and has spent decades trying to ignore anything challenging. And yeah, sometimes they give awards to deserving artists, but for the most part, the Grammys are fully irrelevant. Even the Tonys, as insular and

Can’t wait for it to find a second second life on NBC proper.

Talk about an upgrade. Their chemistry in Knives Out is so strong.

But can the robot do butt stuff to me? Asking for a friend.
