From that text, it appears that Kinnaman did wrong and knows he did wrong. I can sort of envision a scenario where he may have seen things differently, like maybe he had been too aggressive but read the situation as consensual, but ultimately, it seems as though he crossed a line.

I’m not saying he isn’t brave or that it isn’t impressive that he stands up to Kylo Ren. And yeah, Finn is, in part, seeing Kylo Ren as someone who took his life from him. But in that moment, Finn is undeniably motivated by a need to protect Rey—a woman who is his friend, but a woman who he fancies and just met. In

His arc in the first film is just learning not to run away from a fight. That’s a lot easier when it’s one on one and you’re sticking up for a woman you have a crush on. The second film is about him actually applying that learned courage to something bigger than himself. That’s a very different challenge.

Why does it matter? She caught up with him. That’s all that matters.

Yeah, I’ve never liked the argument that Holdo could’ve just told Poe what was going on. He’s been an insubordinate asshole all throughout the film, and when he does learn what Holdo’s plan is, he stages a coup. Poe just wants to go blast things until Leia finally talks some sense into him.

Wait, what? Finn doesn’t have much of an arc? The guy starts the movie trying to run away from the war and ends the film ready to commit suicide for the rebellion. His arc is very clearly about learning to care about things other than saving his own skin. Also, the Canto Bigt stuff isn’t pointless. It’s a chance to

Nope. Nope. Nope. Stop making this a thing. We should be over this by now. You literally ran an article about Rebecca Black a decade after “Friday,” and now you’re fueling another schadenfreude machine. Enough already.

I’ve seen the movie multiple times. We’ve already seen the exact thing it’s trying to accomplish with everything the main team is doing. It feels tacked on.

As someone who saw Alex Wolff on TV when he was a child star, it’s kind of thrilling to see him become one of the best actors of his generation. That said, it sucks that Hereditary has been so stressful to him. The commitment is appreciated and goes a long way, but it’s just a movie, you know?

The difference is that those shows are way more expressive. You can get away with cheap CG animation if the characters are exaggerated. That’s way more difficult to pull off if you’re attempting something that is this muted and lifelike.

I like Rogue One. I greatly prefer The Last Jedi, but what I like about Rogue One is what I like about TLJ. It is willing to diverge and explore small corners of this incredible universe, and even when it flirts with Star Wars ‘77, it’s still compelling.

Re-watched The Village for the first time in years last night. Absolutely loved it. I’ve also liked the last three Shyamalan films. And with Old, it looks like M. Night’s here to stay, baby!!

I understand what you’re saying—although, it does read like you’re saying I’m not conscious of my own feelings about movies, which is a bit presumptuous. That’s not really the case here, as I watched it fairly early and was coming off of two movies I liked better. Then again, I also saw CODA, which everyone LOVED and

This was my thought, as well. At the time, it also played so nicely as something about what you would say or do with the people close to you if you knew you wouldn’t get to see them again. And some segments definitely play better than others, but it’s okay.

I don’t know. I saw it at Sundance. Thought it was funny and charming, if a bit drawn out.

I didn’t hate last week’s episode, but it definitely felt like treading water. This is the most purely entertaining episode of the season, even if it’s not as ambitious as the first three (seriously, that Captain Planet riff is my jam). All the hell stuff is great. Jerryoke is hilarious. Both Bruce Chutback songs

James Spader is a great actor, but his eccentric billionaire character never gelled with that universe. Gandolfini has a much nimbler touch and would have been a perfect addition.

Having finally watched this episode, I have to say that I liked it a lot. Sometimes, even comedies just want to put jokes on the back burner and be in their feelings. In that sense, I found “A Rickconvenient Mort” to be pretty powerful. I don’t think the ecological message is that important as what it represents,

Yeah, I don’t know. Looks like it could be okay. I’ll watch an episode or two.

Holy shit. If this turned into a backdoor sequel series to Brick, I would be 100% in.
