Things just haven’t rocked as hard or with as much manliness since “Vertigo,” I guess.

For me, it’s Deathly Hallows Pt. II. It doesn’t feel like it’s own movie at all. Really though, I love Chamber of Secrets. For me, it’s got this great tone that feels like a natural extension of the first film, without leaning too hard into a Gothic aesthetic that would define the later films. It’s really creepy. And…
That’s true. I do really like the instrumentals quite a lot. Even the vocal melodies and harmonies are quite good. What Clark is saying just doesn’t do much for me, I suppose.
Part of it is because I love her second and third albums—Actor and Strange Mercy—so much. They’re full of ornate orchestrations, and pouring with clever, often biting turns of phrase. On MASSEDUCTION, she’s dealing with many of the same topics and themes, but instead of being witty, she yells “PILLS PILLS PILLS PILLS…
Don’t forget his understated but essential turn in Whiplash.
Just... stop.
Damn it, Janet, you weren’t the only one. I’m right there with you.
It’s weird, because I started getting into this scene just as it was dying—circa 2008/2009—as a high school kid looking for cool music that I wasn’t finding in the mainstream. And yeah. I was lucky to find a lot of the bands as they were peaking.
That compilation is Lititz.
Surely, these kids and their parents consented to this, right?
Is it me, or is Bill O’Reilly’s face melting?
You know, this was at least kinda fun. A million times more welcome than Don Jr. or Mike Huckabee trying to make jokes, that’s for sure.
Depends. How many of them are John Mayer fans?
No idea. I mean, it’s nice to have a high-profile ally, I suppose, but... eh.
That scene is the pinnacle of cinematic depictions of being a fuckboy.
Okay, but Super Smash Bros. Melee defined this years ago.
Split is not a great film, but if James McAvoy’s performance isn’t all-timer, I don’t know what is.
My God... I never thought of it that way. The man might be on to something!!!
Yay! The Florida Project is my number one, as well. It’s a film that gets better with each viewing, whose charms never let up, and whose finer details reveal themselves little by little. I love it.
I’ve said this once, and I’ll say it until it happens—MIKE BIRBIGLIA SHOULD PLAY BILL O’REILLY IN A BIOPIC.
