Not to mention, too—for better or worse—the lack of focus on Stephen in the comics is purposeful. Scott tunnel-visions and pretty much drops his friends the instant a girl enters the picture. Stephen’s seemingly sudden coming out in the last volume is used to point that out and contribute to the series calling Scott…
As someone who read it in my late teens and my 20's (and am 32 now), it does read a little juvenile, but I think the fun of it is that it uses video game aesthetics and sensibilities to look at very normal parts of life. Dating someone new and idealizing them, fighting off your insecurities about their dating history…
Nah, that makes complete sense. I think they saw the excitement for the interactive elements they’d announced for Galaxy’s Edge and realized they might be able to make something even more intricate (and earn even more money while doing it). I’d bet they were planning on the hardcore fans who got the most excited for…

God, the number of missteps with it is astounding. They didn’t bother to try messing with pricing or anything to get more people in (which could have actually helped them with long-term profits instead of just short-term), for one. They could have opened it in a different state, which while they wouldn’t have been…
$50 is a lot for a port - do we know if it’s emulated or if it’s a fully native one? I wonder what made them decide to leave out multiplayer capabilities. That’s a ridiculous missed opportunity and feels real bad, especially with that price tag.
ok but it’s still criminal they didn’t bring back Daisy Johnson tbh
I was really, really excited for the game a few years ago when the first trailers were coming out, but the more gameplay we see, the less I’m interested. All the enemies seem particularly spongy and made to extend the combat rather than being a nice balance, at least for my tastes :(
Video game work doesn’t fall under SAG-AFTRA’s contracts (at least not ones that the strikes are about), so it’s fine.
Ooh, good to hear. I’ll have to test it out now that my PS5's all set up!
I actually upgraded pretty recently! I should test it out and see how it runs myself when I have a chance.
How does Chiaki work with the PS5? I tried it with my PS4 over Wi-Fi a few months ago from just a room or two away from the console and there was noticeable input lag and overall visual sluggishness to the point that I only felt comfortable playing Soul Hackers 2 (or I guess anything turn-based in general). It worked…
Thanks for sharing this! This is really cool, I hadn’t seen it before.
I’ve used my Steam Deck to play things from my PS4 when the TV is in use or if I’m multitasking (like doing busywork/grinding in a game while playing D&D so my ADHD has something to bounce between), and I can see some other use cases in general - if you’re on vacation and can’t bring your PS5, if a partner or friend…
Part of me genuinely suspects that the devs made the changes in malicious compliance. Like, “the execs won’t listen, so fine, we’ll do exactly what you think will work. Ooh, players are mad? Told you so!”
It’s particularly weird because, like, we know that devs don’t hate games. They wouldn’t be doing the crazy work of gamedev if they hated Diablo or didn’t want to be creating a game like this, for the most part. I can’t tell if there’s a bigger idea they’re trying to get (and we’re missing), if some of this is stuff…
Yeah, it’s.. odd. Like I do think a lot of the hate toward D4 and the dev team has been misplaced, a lot of gamer frustration in general comes from unrealistic expectations and not understanding much if anything about game development, but from what I can tell, the majority of the changes amount to artificially…
Uh, this feels like a weird article. Renown might be much better, but they’ve also nerfed Vulnerable and Crit damage, reduced cooldown and damage reduction, and even reduced the amount of experience you get from killing monsters at higher levels than you, as well as the experience boost from partying up with people.…
So essentially, Anti-Pick-Me Girls--at least in this context, not people actually against Pick Mes--are just Pick Mes themselves. It’s turning into yet another “I’m not like those other girls” being used to bully people instead of criticizing people like Just Pearly Things and manosphere ladies. Yikes.
