I agree they should have put The Answer in the base game itself, but I don’t think it’s entirely fair to say that what they said wasn’t true. They were talking about what would be in the game at release, not about any future plans.

I agree we need more transparency with how games are made, but sadly, I don’t think that can fix this problem. I get the sense that the people making the biggest stink about SBI are determined to make that stink no matter what others say. They don’t want to learn about how games are made or the reality of the…
Oh yeah, I don’t envy the position they were in. But from what I’ve read (like some comments from the character designer), it sounds like Tabata kept changing the story even long after they’d decided to make it XV instead of Versus. I never played The 3rd Birthday, but imo Crisis Core was the most cohesive of the…
I was thinking it would be more important because of his backstory, to be fair - I didn’t realize it helps set up the alternate ending they were working toward with the cancelled DLC/the book. Good to know, thanks.
Nah, the anime and Kingsglaive don’t actually give extra context. The characters in Kingsglaive are barely mentioned at all in the main game (all you need to know is that Niflheim destroyed Noctis’s kingdom, which the game tells you), and nothing the anime shows comes through in the game itself. The DLC gives a little…
I completely disagree. Those are the basic character archetypes, yes, imo, the party members get more characterization and development than that.
idk, I really don’t think any of the DLC except maybe the Ardyn one (which I haven’t played) was actually necessary. Neither was the movie or the anime. The Royal Edition definitely makes some good changes, but I don’t think any of the tie-ins are plot-critical. Nothing about what happens in the movie changes our…
Much as XV was flawed, I do think it was really enjoyable! The Chocobros had such good dynamics and each got some nice character arcs, and the ending did really function as a gut punch. I wish development hadn’t been so hellish and Tabata would have stopped changing the story repeatedly so it could have stood a chance…
It’s always felt like a weird mix to me. P3 had the issue of forcing you to date any women whose Link you wanted to complete, which got fixed in later games... but there were still no same-sex options, and they even cut a Yosuke romance. Then P4 had some really nice work with Kanji in that he was uncertain of his…
idk, while I agree that it’s nice to have the main cast not entirely dependent on the MC, there are other ways to get across the idea that the characters have their own lives and issues they don’t share with the player. The games actually do a pretty good job of it as it is with how not everyone is available every…
In addition to what you said about The Marvels (which I completely agree with), it was a victim of the strikes. Like, none of the actors could promote it, nobody on the writing team could, so of course nobody really knew it was coming out. It could have been the best of the best of Marvel’s film output, but of course…
I completely disagree with it being “well-deserving,” but I do think that gamers as a whole could benefit from more transparency with the dev process sometimes. Though plenty of ‘em will refuse to actually learn anything about it, as we’ve already seen. Sigh :/
I think we could definitely use more transparency, but general gaming audiences have pretty much proven they don’t understand or *want* to understand anything about how games are made :x
It’s so frustrating, too, because you can still rewrite and adjust things as you go along if the actors have different chemistry or something else feels more right at the time. Having a plan doesn’t mean you solely have to stick with it even if it doesn’t make sense during production, but at least have *something*.
Honestly, I think that a lot of “no one watched it” *is* because of racism/sexism. Not consciously so, most people don’t look at Ms Marvel and think “nah I don’t want to watch something about a Muslim girl,” but we already know that so much of racism and sexism is baked into our society to a subconscious degree. Like,…
I haven’t watched since the first couple of Capaldi episodes - am I good to skip forward to this season? I want to go back and watch the other stuff I missed since I heard it actually got pretty decent overall, but I loved Donna so much that I’d gladly skip forward first.
I love this. That’s all I have to say.
honestly, I feel like the series was understandable (if goofy) at first. Even with the Nobodies and stuff in KH2. Convoluted to *experience* because of the releases being spread out over a bunch of consoles, but straightforward in an over-the-top anime or Classic JRPG Weird kind of way. The PSP game made it a little…
The way that GameStop does coupons is absolutely confusing. They make it hard to figure out which games are excluded from coupons, it’s never clear why you’re not able to use some coupons even if it specifically says they’re online coupons for use on the website, and the error messages the site returns are…
Not counting P.T. (I’m guessing that’s what you’re referring to) or systems whose storefronts shut down entirely, there’ve been a few more than that. For another free example (but one that’s an actual full game), back when Nintendo gave out Four Swords on 3DS the first time, once they stopped offering it, you couldn’t…
