It’s not transphobic to want trans representation. The fact of the matter is, many trans people lead drastically different lives than cis people, and a lot of the time, that’s because of cis people.

I think it helps that the Steam Deck lets you use your Steam library without being tethered to your computer. Like another commenter said, it’s nice not having to pay twice for games - I know I initially got Stardew on sale on Steam, but being able to play it on my TV and on the go was a huge incentive, so even though…
Nothing’s *stopping* them. But if we don’t actually find out they’re trans in the game, that’s barely better (if it’s better at all) than not having them in it. Trans dudes deserve explicit representation, just as so many other people do.
Echoing the others - I’m not a huge fan of video content like this. Would it be possible to include transcripts in the future? Even if you had to hide it with a button for it to encourage views (since I know ~pivot to video~ is a huge thing), it’d be a happy medium imo.
Ugh, that does suck. I hope it comes in soon and it’s as good as you’re hoping!
Oh, it’s interesting to hear X1's gets a bit less slow. I’m not sure I’ll ever go back to it, but that’s good to know.
I didn’t even end up trying Elden Ring despite the hype since I knew it really just wasn’t my kind of game. I think part of why I want to give XC3 more of a try is that I do really love JRPGs in general and I find the scenery in the Xenoblade games to be really pretty, and I want to see if the stories are as good as…
Yeah, I’ll have to check out the YouTube videos for sure! I had no clue that the DLC had different combat, either, that’s kinda crazy. Good to know.
Oh yeah, I would figure that the Switch version is better. I was only really referring to the combat itself; I didn’t have many problems with the other game elements that I was able to see, even with it being squished into the handheld.
With how much this series is loved, I really would like to get into it, but I played the port of the original on my New 3DS XL and just... bounced off the combat real hard. From what I could gather, the combat in this one is similar, yeah? :/
I completely understand and even agree with your point, but I also love the sheer batshitness of that concept. I might have loved Untitled Goose Game even more if it pulled something like that lmao
I mean, we’re still in the middle of a global pandemic that’s impacting production across multiple industries. We see it with the PS5 and with graphics cards; it’s part of the reason many stores are having trouble keeping some products in stock. I don’t think that points to rushing or deserved roasting.
I haven’t played anything mouse-intensive myself yet, but between messing with my FFXIV UI and getting some mods running for Persona 4 Golden, I think it might be workable. Right/left-clicking using the touchpads themselves is a bit finicky, but I fixed that problem by swapping my clicks to the shoulder buttons (for…
The Switch is lighter and more portable, but I wouldn’t be surprised at all if this is also partially because Steam has more frequent sales than the eShop seems to. I know I’m finally getting to playing the CrossCode DLC, for example, since I’d bought the game on Steam before it came to Switch and managed to get it on…
This deserves an entire article because it’s a prominent franchise and a heavily-marketed release that’s leaning into cryptocurrency, which we haven’t seen used in gaming on this scale yet.
Oi, don’t insult bottoms like that! Cryptobros are their whole separate category lmaoooo
I’m sure bullshit exoticism plays into it for sure, but I do think it’s pretty fair to frame Kojima as... let’s go with eccentric. Him being beloved doesn’t somehow negate the weirdness in his work.
idk, I don’t think it’s that simple. Kotaku regularly has criticized gacha elements, for one. For another, Genshin’s legitimately one of the biggest games out there right now, so it only makes sense to cover it, and there are good points to the game along with the shittiness inherent to gacha mechanics. Being excited…
Spoilers for BtS, in case anyone’s wary.
Yeah, kinda. They're using the Hoyoverse branding in the West now but stayed MiHoYo elsewhere, from what I understand.
