I haven’t played DS yet, and frankly, from what I’ve seen and read, I expect the gameplay to be passable and the story to be full of interesting ideas executed in the most batshit way possible.
Thank you! That makes me actually want to try the quest.
Oh shit. That’s far from me, but I might have to make it out there--they sound great. Thanks!
ME2 was a lot more recent than KOTOR and people can like things you don’t, dude.
TBF, none of the characters are interested, haha. Sure, she’s queer in some form, but there’s no romance at all.
Can you get him without doing the quest that he offers where you steal a book he wants to censor? I wouldn’t mind having a second companion around, but man, I really don’t want to help Max take shit away from people that have nothing to do with him.
I think he was pretty strong as a whole the entire season—not winning, but I don’t recall him being in danger of leaving super often. He was probably a bit more steady than Alice, who was all over the place; wasn’t she in the bottom a good four times or so?. They seem to usually ignore the bakers’ history for the…
OH MY GOD YEAH SANDI. I think she was just trying to check in, I don’t think she realized it was quite so mean, but it struck me as a really obvious thing not to do.
UGHHHHHHHHHHH THIS MADE ME SO UNHAPPY.
I find the sweet spot to be 3-5 people even when the places suggest 8 people. Obviously it depends on the group, but when you get more than 5 people, I find it devolves into a lot of shouting and confusion rather than actually trying to solve much. My favorite times have been with my significant other and just a few…
In the Phoenix metro area, my favorites have been Escape the Room AZ in Old Town Scottsdale and Escape Zone in Downtown Tempe. The puzzles are cool, they put a lot of work into making the rooms immersive and more than just solving puzzles for padlock codes, and the employees are super friendly.
Definitely, but I think it’s likely a mix of things. CinemaSins and the rise of “everything wrong with” videos, for instance, have spread the idea that anything left unexplained (and sometimes even things that are explained or are completely unimportant) is a plot hole or problem.
They’ve never had “part 1" in the title, though.
I love love love seeing them all interact. You can really tell that they get along as a whole, even if sometimes they can butt heads.
What I find so endearing about Bon Appetit’s newer content is that they’re letting everyone be human. There are bloopers, there are weird interactions, there are tips and tricks and a whole wide range of things that aren’t just the perfectly-coiffed Food Network I had growing up.
Ugh, I haven’t gotten the chance to watch Russian Doll or Maniac yet! (I’ve not heard of Fleabag, but the other two have been on my list.)
I think there’s a large segment of gamers (well, fandom in general, but especially gamers) that think exposition dumps and a lack of subtlety are Good Storytelling, frankly. There’s always a little subjectivity to narrative and dialogue, but I find that quite a few people leap to assuming anything left unexplained (or…
I couldn’t figure out a way to work it into my own initial comment, but I agree with this a lot. As much flak as Kotaku (and games journalism in general, which is really weird to me) gets sometimes, as many times as they have missteps, I keep coming back not just for news, but because the writers often put thought…
I feel like my tastes tend to align with yours, Heather, so I’m definitely interested in playing this beyond just “wow this is gonna be a mess.”
