Sad thing is, I see a bunch of people that insist it’s not misleading at all. Between that and the rampant pessimism... man, we really need a bit of balance, haha.

oh god I think it was the Cape Cod brand that did a “fresh jalapeno” flavor but all it tasted like was gin and it was the most confusing flavor experience i’ve ever had
I liked the ghost pepper chips from TJ’s, but I was surprised at how not-spicy they were considering the label “ghost pepper”! They were a lot milder than I’d expected.
The lightsaber-building definitely looks more immersive than the droids. I’d love to do both if I can save the money for it, honestly.
I think that part of it, beyond each part of LotR having proper arcs, is that the movie adaptations of them were titled the same as each part. Audiences knew that, when they went in to see The Two Towers, they were getting The Two Towers and not the entirety of the trilogy.
I think the only problem with this is that the remake is envisioned as a multi-part release from the beginning. Where XIII-2 and The Last of Us: Part 2 were sequels that came about later (rather than being intended during the first part’s development), this game was made with the intent to put out more. When that’s…
Eh, I feel like “bloated” is a bit of an unnecessarily negative word for this. It *might* end up bloated, sure, but what we’ve seen is generally encouraging. I think whether it’s filler or not is ultimately going to be decided by its quality.
It’s really easy to forget that not everyone who plays video games keeps up with gaming news. I follow both the main Final Fantasy and the Remake Instagrams, and on almost every post there are multiple people who only know the Remake is multi-part because someone responds to their comments, for example.
I’m hoping that they’ll at least mention that it’s the first part on the back-of-the-case description. If the game actually does provide a full narrative of its own, it’s going to be a complete game with a concrete beginning, middle, and end, but the majority of consumers aren’t going to know that it only covers…
Think of it this way: if the original FFVII was a single movie, the Remake is a television show. Each season (part of the Remake) has its own complete narrative arc but also furthers an overarching plot; you wouldn’t argue that Avatar: The Last Airbender isn’t worth watching unless they put out the entire series all…
I agree with this--if Square does things right, each part is going to be its own game. At the same time, though, I do think they should make it a bit clearer that this release isn’t going to be the entire story of the original FFVII.
I mean, weather’s gonna happen anywhere lol, I don’t count that as a knock against Hogsmeade :P
Is it knowingly, though? The problem’s widespread enough that they really should do a hardware revision for the Joy-Con, but given the distance that these things travel when shipped, it’s possible the controllers legitimately weren’t drifting when they shipped ‘em out. (Like, it still definitely sucks that your…
I kind of wish this article’s headline was different, if I’m honest. “The system’s battery” kind of implies, imo, that all Switch batteries are the biggest obstacle, but it sounds like your unit’s battery is malfunctioning. Maybe it’s just anecdotal experience, but I haven’t seen many complaints about the battery…
This makes me even more excited to visit Galaxy’s Edge. I felt like Universal Orlando’s Wizarding World areas were pretty immersive, honestly, between the use of “Muggle plastic”, the interactive spellcasting areas, and lack of Harry Potter logos on the merch. This is really exciting. I’ll have to save quite a bit of…
This is really, really cool. It sounds like you guys had an amazing time--I’m happy for you!
It’s amazing how something that is ostensibly a makeover show can be so affecting. I love that they try to focus on bringing out who each Hero wants to be instead of forcing them into molds. The majority of the stuff that the Fab 5 does is ultimately frivolous, yeah; the world won’t implode if the beauty industry…
I really liked the witch lady in DmC and wish we would have gotten more of her. She was definitely one of my favorite characters in the franchise itself, and the ideas they put into her were super interesting. It’s a shame we probably won’t ever get a sequel with her in it.
lol my point is that there are a bunch of factors, so it’s not compleeeetely the same as charging the same price for a movie remake ticket.
Breath of the Wild was estimated to need to sell 2 million copies to break even on dev costs, not counting marketing.
