Wait, people don’t like Maeve?
Despite Maeve not exactly being a fan favourite (not as much as Elsie certainly), some of the literary allusions in her story is fantastic! Like this:
I’m pretty sure the common thread here is marijuana. The employees got freaked out by a customer and hid in the back: high. Dude goes to CVS in the middle of the night looking for cheese and spends 45 minutes wandering around the store: high.
Doesn’t look like anything to me.
I think it was planned, because Felix and Sylvester told her that only Behavior can make the changes she wants. At the end the team says they’re taking her to Behavior.
“When are we?!?” - Dolores
I am now operating not under two time lines but we’re being shown multiple time periods out of order. It is my job as a viewer to piece them together. It’s very sastifying. Of course trying to explain it somebody who hasn’t been watching is a little difficult.
Interesting.
That and the Rolodex of white supremacists he is sourcing his appointments from. I never thought I’d think longingly of Romney’s binders full of women.
God, yes. Pinkham’s BCO/OTM segment has all but withered away. Sucks, because that shit was the only thing that made Monday morning bearable.
KITCHENETTE 4 LYFE.
Misery is one of the very few novels I’ve re-read (I still haven’t seen that movie, because the book was so chilling to me and I don’t want to ruin my imagination with it).
Agreed.
The novel explicitly says the hotel doesn’t go after Wendy, Duvall’s character, because she is too strong. It goes after Jack because he’s weak. The hotel realises Wendy is a threat, and that’s why it tries to get Jack to kill her. None of this is in the movie, Kubrick turned an interesting, strong female character…
Yeah!
I also agree with King that Nicholson doesn’t play it like a descent into madness, but rather as if he’s there from the beginning.
Oh god, my FB memories just recently showed me a post I made about what an apocalyptic nightmare scenario a Romney presidency would be. I want to find a time machine and go pat my past self on my little head and tell myself “oh just you wait my precious, naive little flower. Just you wait”.
you know what i will miss most about obama?
