This is true. Most major furniture retailers are selling quality basically on par with Ikea, and charging substantially higher prices. All of my furniture (minus upholstered stuff from Room & Board) is either antique or Ikea. I have 20-year old Billy and Expedit shelving that's still sturdy and looks good as new.
