It's a clothing brand - they're fairly well known for their yoga pants and other athletics clothing. If I had to take a stab at it, I'd say that they have a reputation for being worn by people not working out in the first place, ~basic~ suburban white girls at sbux, lowest common denominator sort of thing.
I think there's a real bias towards the sort of white mainstream creators in the Big Two (as with a lot of big corporations), but no, I don't think they're actively avoiding them. I think that they're just careless and eager enough to try making boatloads of cash to ignore it when they fuck up their Jewish…
You'll find no argument from me! I bracketed that bit as it wasn't the main point, but as a Jewish girl with good old fashioned big Jewish hair, seeing Kitty with her huge curls in the old comics always made me smile, especially when she was still considered to be attractive in an era in which makeovers were…
For me, it sure was. For others? Probably not. I figure it's a good investment if you want to play Zelda NOW and you're pumped enough about upcoming titles (Shin Megami Tensei, Mario, Fire Emblem and No More Heroes seem like big ones to me?) to know that you'll want to purchase all of those anyway. Take a look at…
Oh man, this guy! If I had known he was involved with Her in any capacity at the time, I would have been far, far more likely to check it out. And I'm absolutely going to be checking this out, at least when Zelda stops encompassing every minute of my time dedicated to gaming.
Yeah, I agree with this. I think it's a lot fairer to compare TP or SS with Wind Waker than it is to compare them to BOTW because of the response from fans and critics alike. This sort of raving over a new Zelda entry is so, so rare.
Thanks - that was going to be my next question. I maintain that it's a damn shame, but then again, I'm not sure if the lead singers they've got could handle some of the more challenging pieces.
Thank you! That's a shame, but thanks to Rori Stevens above, I can understand the logic behind it.
"with the help of a couple of unmemorable new tunes that really underline what the late Ashman brought to the table"
+1ing The Adventure Zone (I fell hard for that one), but if you like video games, I'd also recommend the Monster Factory series on youtube! It's Justin and Griffin McElroy making abominations of god through character creation on various video games and running them through their paces. The Sims, Fallout, and Second…
Like a lot of people, I suspect, I'm rooting for Sheldon or Shirley to take the win. Good for John for trying to better himself, but he's still not at the point where I root for him as a viewer - I've read some interesting pieces on him, though.
I'm one of the viewers who thought this was an A-episode, hands-down — I'm not quibbling with the reviewer (I agree with her most of the time!), but I am laughing at how divisive this episode wound up being, particularly considering most episodes of this show tend to have some broad agreement from reviewers/the…
I definitely understand others' reservations about this console, but I gotta say, I'm really excited for it - one thing that Nintendo often doesn't get enough credit for, IMO, is its accessibility to people, especially kids. There's a nice Kotaku article that covers it:
It's called Transgenerational Trauma! If you seek out papers on it, it is pretty interesting - it's all about how trauma affects the subject but that kind of anxiety (including constant reminders that we have indeed suffered) is passed down from generation to generation as both a claim to identity and a sort of fear…
Eh, to my mind, it didn't wind up looking all that healthy - just vegetarian. But valid point for sure!
It's one of those games that seemed really cool and innovative at the time, with a storyline that a lot of people (including a younger me) found genuinely gripping. Unfortunately, if you look back at the game and think about it logically for more than five seconds, the whole thing kind of falls apart.
Honestly, I would have watched all of these concepts, and watched them happily.
