Man, as a 12-year old Jewish kid surrounded by Catholics, this movie made my life a living hell when it was released. There had always been a little antisemitism here and there, but after my peers went to go see this movie by, quite literally, the busload it was taken as permission to be as virulently antisemitic as

This is a good article, and I totally agree with the general thrust of it - CEXG is doing something that, to my knowledge, we’ve never seen on TV before and its use of the reprise (one of my absolute favourite theatre tropes) is spot-on. That being said, it feels a bit unfair to compare what are, at the longest, three

They've released their episodes in podcast format! I've always wanted to watch, but never had the time to plant my ass down at a computer screen and focus on it for three hours. Being able to listen while I do chores or on commutes, though, that works perfectly. I'd definitely tell your friends about both versions!

Oh, I'm very bummed. It got me all verklempt! It's always nice to see something you love get a good ending, at the very least, but it's still sad it's over.

The Adventure Zone. Even the basic premise - "okay, so there's this guy, and his two brothers and his Dad play D&D, and - wait, no, where are you going, please come back" - is a bit wanting when it comes to trying to convince others to listen. Still, it's managed to become popular enough, so I suppose some people

Someone already mentioned more long-term solutions WRT working to strengthen the Democratic Party, but for purely financial contributions, https://twitter.com/SaraJBe… this twitter thread may be useful to you - it lists local non-profits that could use help. (I haven't looked at every single organization listed

Definitely agreed. While I understand this is a personal list of best-of, it's always disappointing to see one lone POC voice among them - getting a variety of people from a variety of different ethnicities to teach their own cuisine is always something I'll prefer, and I would love for them to get more mainstream

this is very bad

I don't think that's explicitly what the author of this meant to say and that if he was having a serious discussion about this, he probably wouldn't say that.

Her arguments would be a lot more convincing if she was remotely funny.

I'm among their ranks. I usually don't even like most movie romances! But dang, were they ever charming.

Honestly, same! I left the movie theatre saying to myself, "Okay, Diana, you go find that charred corpse and bring it back to R'as Al Ghul STAT."

It helps that Steve really did feel like a three-dimensional person, just one whose backstory we never get to see - just an expression or a pause here and there that gets across an idea that there's a lot more to him. I think Pine did a really wonderful job with that.

I think that while there are weaknesses in the story and the script, the wonderful cast absolutely makes up for it. I have way more reservations about how the plot goes down than a lot of people I've spoken to, but I still found it to be extremely affecting. And yes, the ghost is just a projection of Evan's thoughts.

Maybe it's because I've been playing way too much Persona, but I think Persona's approach could work really well here - a confined structure can inhibit the player from doing too much destruction because they feel like it, and can force players into spending a fairly equal amount of time as Clark Kent and as Superman.

Yeah, nothing against her music or anyone who's been dazzled by it, but it's kind of a relief to see this sentiment outside of my own head. The enraptured praise she gets is very bewildering to me, but hey, maybe it'll help her sales for her next album.

Good call on Stardew Valley! I've heard good things about it.

Oh, ugh. I can't blame you! It's ridiculously heteronormative to not even be able to get platonic interactions, and it's not as though other Japanese games didn't manage it.

I mean, people can talk about how Hydra aren't actually Nazis until they're blue in the face, but that's not going to make me any more comfortable with seeing a whole bunch of Nazi cosplay. There was some controversy some years back with literal Nazi cosplay (Germany Hetalia cosplayers thought it was a good idea to

I've been enjoying the hell out of Persona 5 (and haven't gotten to the bits of it that are being discussed above), but count me in in being disappointed at the lack of same sex relationship options. It's something I've wanted since Persona 3, and to this day, Persona 4's biggest failing for me is not letting me date
