You can’t really compare the two. The 70s were mostly scenery for That 70s Show. Love or hate the show, you have to admit it focused on it’s characters for the humor.

I absolutely would not trust every PC developer to gracefully handle forced application shutdowns.

As a programmer, I’ll tell you right off that it is a BAD IDEA to rely on a OS kill-switch for everything and expect that every application handles it perfectly in all cases.

On the whole this reinforces my thinking that I can wait a while for this generation. I’ll upgrade my Xbonex at some point but there’s no rush. Not a jab at Microsoft or the article, just the reality of a mid Covid launch where for understandable reasons, the launch lineup simply isn’t finished.
