I just have a healthy distrust of parking brake cables due to having a very slack one in an older car I owned.  That and the area I lived in at the time being quite hilly led to always leaving the car in gear.

always, always, leave the car in gear in a stick shift.  If the parking brake fails the car won’t move.

I am not even a musician and I LOVE Joe Satriani.  I’ve seen him multiple times in concert, he’s IMHO the greatest living guitarist, and I’m seeing him in concert again in May with Steve Vai!  And every concert of his I go to, they’re sold out.  So people are most definitely listening to Joe.
