Not a “problem” per se, but Americans wear sunglasses a lot more. When it’s cloudy, or sunny, they are wearing sunglasses. People aren’t like that other places - yes people wear sunglasses - but they take them off when they don’t need them.
Clothing is a huge part of it for sure. The first time I visited Germany, the difference between people speaking English to me and people speaking German to me was whether or not I was wearing a coat I had purchased at a local shop. (I am of German ancestry so - in terms of ethnicity I look like a local)
