I have to wonder if that sort of thing damages a brand in puritanical America in ways that it doesn’t in Asia.  I can easily see in (say) Japan how it low-key is allowed because at the end of the day Japan is only straight-laced on the surface.

Soviet Russia practiced a mix of Socialism/Communism and Totalitarianism/Fascism. But that doesn’t mean that a hallmark of Socialism is silencing opposing viewpoints. That part comes from the Totalitarianism.

I am constantly amazed at how stupid people are to download and run an *.exe file, which is simply named after a video file they want to watch.  This has been a dumb, lazy attack since the 90's at least and it still gets people.

I think you meant to say ‘Communism’, as the Western Socialist movement has been very successful and is advocated by both political parties in the US to varying degrees (just they don’t always call it Socialism, but many things are, indeed, socialist in origin like Social Security).
