Whatever happened to “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all?” If you go around being a jerk all the time, you won’t have any friends or lovers.

Let’s all stop using the term “PC” and instead just call it “kind, considerate and respectful.” How many Republicans would be openly opposed to that? “Politically correct” makes them think it’s about politics and not human kindness, and that they can be against it and not be an asshole.
So. Perfect.
Private membership clubs?
You are absolutely correct. My comment was very dismissive of the talents and work required to compete in pageants. I think that the societal sexism is a big part of it: bodybuilding competitions are called competitions when in fact they are also pageants. I think though that I viewed bodybuilding as requiring more of…
Lightning is deadly. The risk of dying by it is very low.
The risk of death by flu is mild. To those it kills, it is not mildly deadly.
I think the point letterb is making is that, like being pregnant, there is no “mild” form. Something is either sexist or it isn’t. And as for appalling, I would argue the same. It would be like saying something is mildly deadly.
I kind of disagree on the bodybuilding competitions. I mean, it’s a form of body modification that takes a lot of hard work. It reminds me of the ancient Greeks worshipping the human form in the original Olympic Games. To me it seems more deserving of admiration than just being “born pretty.”
I can’t wait to see the explanation for the horde of angry dudes that are going to bot-review it into the toilet. What will they be angry about this time?
I would argue that freedom of religion INCLUDES freedom from religion. For example, Christians don’t want to have to read or recite parts of the Quran. And we atheists don’t want to have to say “under God” or see “in God we trust.”
From that photo, I’m guessing that “sweating profusely and pale in color” is de rigueur for Young Master Brant.
I would imagine it’s because Kentucky is a poor state, she’s a first-term judge, and as we all know, she probably makes less than her male counterparts.
I’m always commenting on knowing our judges and ousting the bad ones. Glad to finally see one I can support!
I’ll be voting for them with my virgina.
Now, if we could just pass some laws that pertain to beauty product safety we’d be making real progress.
So true. Parks & Rec, 30 Rock, Arrested Development, Bored to Death, The Office. ALL SO UNFUNNY! Or were you just talking about Bridesmaids, Spy and The Heat?
Maybe YOU’RE mom. Mine would have said, “What an asshole.”
Yeah. The RNC doth protest too much, methinks.
Remember to vote for (or against) your judges! This one’s up for re-election in 2021.
